Game crashes and I still get a penalty?

I'm actually unable to play Dead by Daylight, I haven't been rage quitting, I'm disconnecting because my game crashes and it's out of my control, I can't prevent it. The penalty has been stacking and stacking and stacking, I was having the time of my life hitting cross map hatchets on huntress, then all of a sudden, mid game, my game crashes. This is the 18th time I've crashed because I've been having issues, and now I have 24 hour penalty from something I literally could not have prevented. Is this a bug? I literally can't play the game, please help.

    Try to find the cause of it, might be something on your end still (hardware, software, connection problem) - update/reinstall drivers, check game files, reinstall game/Steam, make sure your connection is stable, try Ethernet and not wireless etc.


    do you get an error message when the game crashes?

    I've uninstalled and reinstalled several times, the game just keeps crashing after during 1 match. If I'm lucky, I get to play 2 or 3 matches before it crashes during the next one. When I got my alternate DbD on pc, I didn't know what the best one to get was, so I didn't get it on steam, I got it on the Microsoft store. My connection is always stable, I'm not sure how to check if anything is wrong in the files.

    When it crashes, I do get an error message, it's the same one over and over again, something about Unreal Engine? I don't know how to fix it, so I can never play because the game crash penalties stack. I don't get why you get a penalty from game crashes, it's out of your control, it's stupid. Same problem on my main account, I don't rage quit, I don't disconnect for laughs, my game will crash mid game and I get a penalty as if I'm raging from the game, it happens so much that the game is like, okay dude, you need to take a breather, calm down, when I'm not even rage quitting, what's making me pissed off is this stupid penalization from something I literally cannot prevent.

    You get penalized because the game doesn’t recognize what cause you ending the match. And people abused the leave option so we are here..

    try take a screenshot of the error and post it here, maybe someone recognizes it and can tell you how to fix it on your end?

    My apologies, didn't mean to be triggered, I was just stressed. I had to wait 24 hours before I could even play again to see the crash error message, but I got it.

    Don’t worry, I get that’s frustrating as you get punished for something out of your direct control. I answered in your other thread directly to the error message, maybe/hopefully something there might help?
