Allowed to use/share 3D models?

Is it allowed to extract models/assets etc from game files to use in 3D modeling software (Blender)?

so I have read this from the site down below and as I understand it I can create renders of the models and share those via social media as long as I don’t sell them in any way?

eg i want to take a characters model, add my own spin on it (for example creating different textures, changing or creating new clothes/meshes etc or even just create a setting/lighting)

Art

Artworks that have been created (any media) based on our games (includes models, skins, environment, weapons, etc.) cannot be sold without express permission from Behaviour.

We want you to share your amazing works on social networks like Twitter, Instagram, and community networks like Deviant Art. Just don’t sell it. Please.

umm... they're fine with you making fan art. just not profiting from it.

in other words they like the free publicity and the creative ideas that they can benefit from, but it's a licensed product so you can't market it. and if you do they want their royalties.

like... say you're an amazing artist and you create stuff that the community gets behind. they will potentially steal it and create their own version of it to be sold in their storefront, but will not give you any mention or payment. as it's an at your own risk kinda thing.

you, however, cannot steal it and sell it as dbd2 or a "spiritual successor" or mobile daylight. or something.

im not a lawyer so this isn't legal advice.

also all final decisions are behaviors to make. not mine. this is just my interpretation. there are several animations on youtube that showcase blender models.

hmm... as long as the actual dbd files aren't modified when you play the game and the extraction isn't leaked content then i don't see why not?

but not 100% sure on that. isn't extraction how they do those steam workshop animations? Like these?
