I wish this was a series instead of a movie. Imagine each episode a story about one surv/killer. This would be way better than a movie, but at least we have James Wan involved in this project <3 /saw vibes

So I got a look at the leaked pitch notes and saw some interesting stuff.
1- 2 killers and 8 survivors. Consisting of Wraith and Trapper, Kate, David, Claudette, Meg, Feng, Dwight, and Nea. The 8th dc'd when they were told they were the first to step in a trap.
2 - Nea is going to sabotage the survivors.
3 - Mothers Dwelling was originally one of the maps but it was turned down because it was too big for the production studio
4 - Only voice actors will be cast for Dwight and Claudette as they have no on screen parts.
5 - Although it is an R rated movie and not meant for children, their will be no foul language in the script.
6 - Samination has an advisory roll and it's possible the Trapper will be based on his animations
7 - The writers are survivor sided and are planning on at least one of them escaping
8 - No One Escapes Death was the original title but test groups said it was unfun.
9 - They were going to use a location named Camp MacMillan, but decided campers are unfun.
And 10 - Everyone dies and the movie ends the same way it started, since death is not an escape.

I'd argue most of these fit in the "innocently mediocre" camp of movies. They're financially very successful but half of the reason for that is that the have such a low budget it's impossible for them not to make money, releasing a horror movie near Halloween will always make you some money and the bar for entry on the genre is so low that you could release anything and the worse you'll get is a "could be better" and people moving on. Given the nature of these movies I'd say this probably ends up being a fan service horror movie and quick cash grab, although I will be pleasantly surprised if I hear it's good because they is a lot of room for a good horror movie with dbd lore.

Yay... A movie where the survivors run a very dangerous killer around Garner cans, rubble and other things without ever getting tired. Don't forget the survivor bonking the killer in the head with a warehouse pallet to slow him down.

I hope it's not going to be about Trapper but some killer with a power that requires some good SFX
The thing I care about the most in horror movies is how grotesque they can be. Plague, Hag or Dredge would probably be the best choices for me, with a good second place for Blight, Nurse and Spirit <3

I really hope the movie captures other killers rather than the first three. While the wraith, trapper, and hillbilly are pretty much the faces of dbd, it be a missed opportunity to have some of the later killers to debut in the movie like Blight, Twins, and Dredge as I think they’d be more interesting and complex in almost every way.

It better have flashlight clicking, t-bagging, and every survivor has to be whiny and sarcastic like that scene from the first Scary Movie where she's like "is this the part where I fall and break my leg" and then she purposefully breaks her own leg. If it's sarcastic and campy where the survivors aren't really scared of the killers and the killers keep getting stunned by randomly placed pallets! That could possibly be the greatest scary movie ever made.

I will be curious to see what the plot is, since I think it's hard to adapt games that don't already have a narrative. My bets are on the OG four survivors to get chased through the woods by Trapper and maybe Huntress.

Except it does have several narratives from the tomes to pick from, even then they can always make a new one just for the movie if non of the non-playable character related tomes can't be adapted.
