so what are your ideas for the best skull merchant builds?

just recently purchased her and working on getting all the killer perks on her that arent licensed
(sloppy butcher, jolt, etc) just looking for ideas since she seems to be a normal m1 killer overall.

cob, overcharge, nowhere to hide is a strong combo on any killer but it feels especially strong on her because of her drones, she can contest a 3 gen and even a 4 gen stronger than any other killer in the game imo

My build that I've been having good success with is:
Jolt, Spirit Fury, Enduring, and Sloppy. Also I run the exhaustion inflicting addon so I don't have to deal with Dead Hard.

the basic gen kick meta build does seem strong on her right now add in a scouge hook/jolt and that is a lot of regression

what do you run for the other add on? thanks for the tip

scourge hook is risky because you could get a scourge in your drone area which would deactivate it
trust me, the meta is very strong on her especially

Expired Batteries, Corrupt Intervention and Jolt sounds like a good combo, though i haven't tried it yet.
Also combining Brutal Strength/Fire Up and Bamboozle/Superior Anatomy with Geographical Readout can make you faster in a loop with a drone.
She's an M1 killer so spirit fury and enduring can be fun, can also add hubris to it now with the knight's perks.
Also in an interview one of the devs said that information perks worked well with her so that's another thing to try.

I was running the addon to gave her haste + action speed increase. But I was running out of those so I was messing with Expired Batteries.
I did try randomised strobes, but once I learned it was only 3 seconds of hindered and being in the drone area didn't refresh it, I stopped using them.

yeah she does have a variety of addons...was looking into a skill check build but wasnt sure if it would be strong enough on her

I'm glad 😄

I think the skill check build would be too gimimcky. The problem is survivors can just disable your drone and then the skill check part has no relevance.
Although it could work on multi-level maps, because the active drone's area go through floors.

I still think that Knight is even better at that, but she sure is strong playing like that. I still hate how Call of Brine and Overcharge stack. These new killers really make me wish we still had the PGTW meta, which seemed much healthier for the game.

Stack all the gen kick perks and set up camp.

Best SM build is to play Knight instead.
He's much better at holding 3 gens (the only thing SM is capable of doing), and he has much better chase in general due to actually having a power.

I have found much success with this build. I call it "I Play with your Feet"
Most the time I end up not needed No Way Out. but its my crutch okay?

A video I recently watched has a philosophy of one early game perk (Corrupt, Deadlock, Lethal), two slowdown perks (Pop & Jolt for M1 Killers) and one Power Optimizing perk to work with the Killer's abilities.
I'd suggest Iron Grip and/or Agitation for Power Optimizing, for times you need to hook but don't want to lose a well placed drone.

Rancor, game Afoot, remember me, terminus, all with midwich offering
Don't even bother hooking and just place drones at both exit gates

New thought: Hex builds.
Use any Hex(es) of your choice alongside Thrill of the Hunt. Guard them with drones, Thrill gives you time to make it to any Hexes in danger of cleansing.

i must try both of these out thanks

Been using Brutal Strength, STBFL, Hex: Plaything, and Jolt with Brown Noise Generator and Adaptive Lighting add-ons. Has been workin pretty well for me

Video of a guy using those same addons for a full on jumpscare build
This was made during PTB, in case that matters.

someone used pyramid head's undetectable perk, devour hope, thrilling tremors, and whatever the 4th perk was. for whatever reason it worked

I use it for her to have extra stealth capabilities as well. Can usually throw off a survivor being chased around areas with walls and cover.

Yup, no problem
Even better on a map like midwich simce the gates are super close together in that map

Here's a version of the Hex Defender build I was able to use in a couple live matches:
Hex: Thrill of the Hunt, Hex: Devour Hope, Iron Grasp, Flex Perk (I'm currently using my crutch perk of choice, Deadlock)
Addons: High Current Upgrade (brown, reduces cooldown to reactivate drones by 10%), Low-Power Mode (yellow, increases active mode duration by 10%)
As previously described, the idea is set drones to guard your totems. If a drone goes down, rely on Thrill to buy you time to interrupt the cleanse. It's not perfect, in 2 live matches Survivors did get cleanses off, one got Thrill first, the other got Devour first, so I didn't worry about Thrill after that.
In the two matches I played, first was Gas Haven, got 5 stacks of Devour, managed a 3k and let the last one have hatch since someone brought Streamers (the one who escaped was even the one who brought them). Second was Lery's, that's the one where they cleansed Devour, but I got 4 stacks before it happened. That game ended in a 3k with a Kate finding the Hatch before I could get her.
Also both games lasted ~15 minutes which, given the issues w/ Skull Merchants and 3 gens, I imagine would get some appreciation.
