Clarification Question on The Drones
I ran into this issue in the match I was playing and I'm not sure if this should be happening, it is a bug, or if it is a feature and I'm too dum to figure it out.
My understanding with the Drones was that you had to be in their site to actually be tagged by them. On The Game, the Drone was upstairs and I was downstairs and I was getting tagged by the thing and there didn't seem to be anything I could actually do about it (without leaving the gen I guess and going upstairs to break the drone).
When it's doing the spinny scan thing, that seems obvious that it does need line of site to tag you but when it has the big poofy circle scan, does that tag you no matter what if you're in the range? Is the only way to deal with the "active" scan mode is to destroy the drone and it just really sucks for you if you're on a multifloor map like The Game?

Yep, she’s just a lot better on indoor maps.
In scouting mode you can only be detected on the same floor as the drone (because it has to have LOS on you), but if it’s active it goes through floors and ceilings.

That's been my understanding of the drones' modes as well.
On a related note, do addons that cause effects within the drone's area require the drone to be active, or does it vary? Some specify being in an active drone's area, some don't.

Drones in scanning mode can only detect survivors on the same level as it. However, drones in active mode can detect through multiple floors. On indoor maps or maps with multiple floors, the Skull Merchant can manually activate her drones to see if there are any survivors above or below the drone.

The drone has to be active, though most of those addons’ effects linger for a little while after being outside the radius.

Damn, that's brutal for indoor maps I guess :D
Thanks!
