New Killer Adept rules too punishing
By this I mean, spiteful survivors can easily punish killers to deny the Adept. Or poor game stability that causes a survivor's game to crash can deny the killer's Adept. (I had three matches in a row yesterday with a disconnect. This is not a non-issue.) The killer has no counter to a disconnect. It used to be that if a survivor disconnected, I could farm out a double-pip and still earn the Adept achievement.
Now, if a survivor disconnects, the killer doesn't get the Adept. If a survivor crawls to an unknown corner or a dead zone to force a bleed out, the killer doesn't get the Adept. And the RNG of the hatch also denies the Adept.
A better solution would be that a double pip is a Merciless, and a 4k is an automatic Merciless. There, now there's a possible option for killers so survivors can't outright singlehandedly screw them over by being a poor sport. It'd be nice if disconnects counted as kills, but the answer to that seems to be a definitive "no."
HOWEVER, a disconnect on the hook should count as a kill. I don't understand why that doesn't count as a kill. Bleed outs should really count as kills, too, considering survivors can force that and there's no counter to Boil Over except slugging (you can't equip Iron Grasp if you're going for an Adept).

I got my adapt when someone bled out, I don't think it matters how they die so long as they die. I agree however that disconnects shouldn't hurt achievements. If there's a dc just add +1 to the killers kill count.

Weird, because every time I've had bleed outs they count against me. Three sacrifices and one bleed out, I get Ruthless Killer. Three bleed outs and a sacrifice, I get Brutal. They never count towards a "kill by any means" challenge, either.

Had someone with Boil Over bleed out in a match today. The other three were sacrificed on the hook. Ruthless Killer. Bleed outs are not counting as kills.
I have video proof if needed.

"Three bleed outs and a sacrifice, I get Brutal."

"To clean things up, the result you get after a match will now be tied directly to kills... ...With this change, the requirement for a Merciless Killer rating is much clearer and remains the same regardless of your grade."
"4 Kills: Merciless Killer" ~ January 2023 update
So as it turns out, that was a god damn lie.

3 bleed outs? yeah you deserve the punishment

They forced it, brought Boil Over and crawled into an alcove that required going through a tight doorway to get out of. They were piled on top of each other and refused to leave the spot. I hooked the one who didn't do that.
I would've hooked them if they crawled out of there. You can't blame the killer when the survivors choose to bleed out for four minutes.

######### I had no idea this was a universe where nobody abused the horrible maps to be unhookable and thus necessitate leaving them on the ground for four minutes.

Obviously it's just a skill issue /s
Jokes aside yeah there's nothing really if they're in a hook dead zone and refuse to come out
