Deathslinger changes suggestions
The Deathslinger has fallen from tier lists ever since the new nerfs were introduced for the killer. His original base kit's 24 meter terror radius and speed of 4.4 m/s were fairly reasonable for a killer like Deathslinger, who could spear survivors from a distance. And with his maximum range being 18 meters for the harpoon, this did fit better with the 24 meter terror radius. It's obvious why the aim down sight speeds were changed; the ability to fire almost instantly and cancel aiming down sight quickly made it completely boring and repetitive to play against. The developers made a great quality of life change to make sure it was better to face the Deathslinger during a chase or do anything else other than being revolved in a chase, but it's the other changes made in Patch 5.3.0 that ruined him.
The other changes they made to his base kit damaged him overall; for one, the terror radius change was extremely unnecessary for this killer. His harpoon only has a limited range, and compared to the other projectile killers like Huntress, who has a lullaby with only a 20-meter terror radius, I doubt it isn't hard to add some lullabies that will fit the Deathslinger while gradually reducing his terror radius to either 24 meters or 28 meters. If the terror radius change is too much, and if you think it will make Deathslinger a difficult killer, then I suggest buffing his movement speed to 115%. Whilst I do not like this overall suggestion, it will fit with other killers that have a 32-meter terror radius. Now, with the reason why I dislike this suggestion, most Deathslinger players would avoid using their Redeemer and would rely on his movement speed change to cut off survivors and down them. One of these buffs for the Deathslinger would be great if noticed.
His ADS timings, I feel, are fine; they're fair for both sides. I don't expect it to go down, nor do I believe it's necessary. His previous speeds were 0.15 seconds when toggling ADS, which was really fast and required a quicker reaction speed to get used to. And let's face it, we've all gotten used to the current speeds anyway. So why bother changing it? (Although reducing it from 0.40 to 0.35 might be a good change, it's not a significant one, but if this change comes, then unfortunately some other buffs to compensate for his ADS times originally might have to go or be changed.)
Another change I would suggest is a rework of his add-ons. Some of them are based around survivors struggling out of your chain, which seems pointless, unless you're running Save the Best for Last and you've just speared the obsession. So I do believe that some of his add-ons need to be looked over.
I enjoy playing Deathslinger more than any other killer currently on the roster. I'm not quite sure why, and I've been playing him since his release, and I hope to see some reworking of the Deathslinger. I would be interested in your thoughts.
