Unable to fully download the new patch.

I have DbD on Steam, usually when updating it from patches, the download tends to get stuck at 100% then eventually resume and make the game accessible.
This time however it remains stuck fully downloaded and then stops, looking deeper I've noticed the error of "Disk read error" on Steam.
I've tried everything including changing the download location, verifying or repairing the file but nothing worked. It might be related to my own hard drive failing to which I'm in the process of getting a new PC, but anyone else have this issue? It is simply not letting me play the game currently and I realized it was not related to the server issue yersteday.
