Gemat?
I assume this is a DBD x Meet Your Maker crossover thingy, but did they ever announce this? I only started to find these today. I've only escaped with one and I got an "HRV Figurine". It's kinda cute!
The weird red glowing thing was called a "Gemat"

I also just got this. I heard this weird sound in Coldwind Farms, then found the gemat. I got this same figurine after.

Some have speculated that this might have been an intended thing, another shadow-drop event like the Silent Hill gnomes a while back.

The gnomes didn't have anything to do with Silent Hill. If anything it was a reference to HL2 or Left4Dead (Bill).

They tweeted a GIF of this interactable and tagged Meet Your Maker, asking them if they 'lost something'. Other than that there has not been any official announcement. Right now you can only get one charm, and it's easier to do with Killer: just interact with the pillar and finish the trial. As survivor, you need to escape.
The first time I got this the sound effect played exactly at the moment someone placed a boon, so at first I thought they had changed the boon sound 😂.
It might be that they will expand this event in the coming weeks, Meet Your Maker can be preordered now and will release early April.

Yeah, I interacted with the pillar a few times as Survivor but died in the trial every time, and afterwards I did not get any popup. After one match as Killer I immediately got the charm.

It's a mini-event, like a mini-mini-mini event. You can only grab one for 200 BP each game and after you earn the charm I don't think there's anything else to do.

Except that's not true and there's supposed to be 2 other colored genmats. Shirts for original survivors, weapons for some Killers, and a full outfit for Meg.
