A Super Simple, Revolutionary Meta Change
One crazy idea I just thought of while listening and soaking in RapidMain's thoughts from a recent YT video was to make the gens have a timer to automatic completion, set at like 14 minutes.
Now, if you hop on gens and "genrush", you won't be able to finish all 5 gens in a traditional sense as it is today, but you will be able to push down the automatic completion timer of 5 gens from 14 minutes to like 12, 10, 8, or even 6 minutes. I would consider developing the system so that most matches would be about 10 mins if the Survivors were handily winning the chases always as well as the gen wars.
On the flip side, if your squad played around with Head On and Flashlights too much and touched zero gens or did very little gen repair in the match, well, your 14 minute automatic gen completion timer just went up to like 16, 18, 20 or even 22 minutes. I would consider developing the system so that most matches would be about 18 mins if the Killer was scaring the Survivors off the gens really well (or regressing the gens really well).
Gen perks will still help to ensure you get your 18 minutes as Killer or your 10 minutes as Survivor, like Eruption, Blast Mine, Prove Thyself etc., but now we can take zero gen perks like it's nothing harmful at all. For the first time ever in our lives. This is because the average match time will be like 14 minutes with small standard deviations, no matter what. And so many B tier perks now get used a lot. There's variety and fun in the builds and gameplay again. And HIDING becomes a very fun, legit meta again too!
This would probably negate my other idea in the forums here about 2-3 months ago on adding basekit "Killer Corrupt Time" just like "Killer Terror Radius" and "Killer Movement Speed" on all the Killers. It could be in a (probably conservative) range of like 0 seconds of Corrupt Intervention basekit for Nurse, 20 seconds for Ghostface, 30 seconds for Trapper at the very top, and so forth in between. All based on 3-5 simple criteria for each Killer.
Thoughts, flames, further ideas? Cheers!)
