What are some perks, items, or add-ons that you believe are underrated?
For me it’s Dying Light, Ruin, Broken Key + Purple Ring, Iri Keys + Beads w/Amber Stone, & Hope.
DL is really good on a killer who can keep chase extensions down to a minimum. Bonus points if the best looper is not the obsession, so you can ignore them in the beginning and feed DL off their teammates.
Ruin is not expected in 2023, so I catch a lot of teams off guard with this one. A lot of times it feels like its absence has made the community “soft” with locating totems, because it stays up for a decent amount of time in a lot of my matches.
When I first started playing this game, I thought the Broken Key was so damn useless until I had the bright idea of pairing it with the Purple Ring add-on (forgot the name) for a very poor man’s Bond. The way I see it, it’s still useful to know at least what one of your teammates is doing all match, no matter where they are on the map. Bonus points if they’re the one in chase, cause now you know where the killer is as well and if they’re both heading in your direction. The obsession is on death hook and in chase? Now you can go straight to them and body block.
Iri Keys with Beads & Amber(?) Stone add-ons are great when you hear a killer’s terror radius but don’t know which direction they are coming from. This aura reading combo comes super handy when looping tall structures like a jungle gym or the Shack. It’s too bad you can’t get much use out of it- the key’s energy drains pretty quickly even with the beads. I suppose I can try a Built to Last/Streetwise combo?? 🤔 Hmmmm….
Hope’s buff was a nice addition, and should be on a lot of Martyr’s kits who like to shine during the end game. Used in loops properly, you can waste the killer’s time so that your team can get the exit gates opened.
What about you guys? What do you think is underrated and surprised it’s not more popular in today’s DBD?

Aftercare keeping the effect on for as long as possible is super nice and it’s also a bit of a skill check because you lose the effect when hooked so

Play With Your Food is very underrated.
Even 1 token can make a big difference in how fast you can down a survivor. More then one cause the obsession keeps showing themself and it gets silly very fast

Aftercare never leaves my builds. The amount of information it gives is AMAZING.
Hex : Third Seal does more than you'd think to slow down the survivors' efficiency.
Maps are actually really nice. I often struggle to find gens, and this is a portable Clairvoyance that doesn't take up a perk slot. Very good for gen spread awareness and 3gens too.

Mad grit, pretty much eliminates body blocking.

Does the broken key and whatever add on it is still make you lose collision detection when a killer vaults a window? There was something a while back where if the survivor was using it the killer would have a hard time knowing where the survivor had gone because they could just run through them when the killer was in the vaulting animation. Was very situational and not worth using because if you did, the DBD gods would match you up with a nurse everytime making it useless!

padded jaws let you get 2 STBFL stacks off of one survivor while also letting you save stacks on the obsession, and one or two downs with traps can win you a game

Playing without DH is underrated. To use four strong survivor perks and killer still trying to bait out the DH you don't have 😄

Adrenaline vial, lithe, blood rush, any means necessary

Deja Vu is heavily underrated, especially when trying to avoid 3-gen situations. A great, strategic perk.
Forced Penance is very useful. The fact you don't often get feedback from it is what can put some off, but especially against Boons or healers it greatly stalls them.
Spies From The Shadows is unbelieveably useful and has even caught people so off-guard that I've been accused of cheating for it. Because it's not often used as a location perk, it's surprising how much use it gets.
Dark Devotion, especially with a killer such as the Dredge, can cause some chaos, if you are willing to give up a chase. The effect can be very profitable.
