Let's brainstorm how impactful the heal per second changes will be to survivor perks?
Currently, the default speed at which survivors can altruistically heal themselves is 1 C/s (16s -> 24s).
Alternatively, they can run Self-care to fully heal themselves by independent means at 0.35 C/s (46s -> 68.5s).
Botany Knowledge increases those numbers by 50%, meaning survivors can heal eachother at 1.5 C/s (10.7s -> 16s) or heal yourself at 0.5 C/s (30.5s -> 46s).
Once the upcoming changes are live, it'll take survivors roughly 50% healing speed bonus only so they can compensate for the new "health care system" implemented by BHVR.
My point being that these changes greatly affected multiple other aspects of the game that goes beyond the selfish playstyle that behavior is clearly not fond of. For instance:
- Desperate Measures will only compensate for these changes if all survivors are alive and injured, at which case it will increase healing speed by 6% (that's 0.7s for altruistic healings);
- Botany Knowledge and No One Left Behind won't grant any additional healing speed aside from the compensation for the afore mentioned changes and BK still penalizes survivors for using medkits (although medkits themselves have also been greatly nerfed);
- We'll Make It has been nerfed by ±33.3% (8s vs. 12s);
- Collective Stealth, Better Than New, Renewal, Aftercare, Power of Two and Blood Pact, all of which are niche as is, will be even less appealing once these changes are live, since they rely on the survivor's ability to complete a healing action;
- Resilience, Spine Chill, Leader, Object of Obsession are also affected to some extent, altought a point can be made that they are not perks that are centered around increasing healing speed;
- Sloppy Butcher, Nurse's Calling, Coulrophobia (and Unnerving Presence by extent), Pentimento (and Plaything by extent), Leverage and Gift of Pain were all indirectly buffed;
- Gearhead has been both indirectly and directly buffed (waaaaay too buffed, by the way).
That is not to mention self-care has been a noob trap for quite some time now and it only gets worst.
I'm fine with the new health care system and the CoH nerf was expected, but, in my opinion, compensations for a lot of other survivor perks (that were already underperforming to begin with) are desperately needed.
