How can I get better at tracking survivors?

I have 2.2K or so hours in this game 60 - 40 killer - survivor. One thing I can't seem to get good at is tracking. I feel the need to have some kind of tracking perk on. Lethal is a must for me. I just can't find survivors fast enough sometimes. I can't count how many times I've lost survivors or can't find them near gens. It has cost me so many games where I spend too much time looking. Chases are another story. Some chases are too long for me but I've tried to get better at that. What could I do to get better at tracking so that I don't need aura reading all the time to stay in a game?

Tracking is about reading the scratch marks. It can be tricky sometimes but they will usually tell you when you are in the right area.

But you need to combine that with loop knowledge, because acratch marks dont help in certain places, like a jungle gym.

When talking about replacing lethal pursuer, Thats just a guessing game. Usually i walk to the futherest gen at the start of the match, following the busiest route possible, meaning i pass as many gens as possible along the way.

Easiest solution? Good headphones. Loud headphones will do for you what no perk could dream of.

Final note, when chasing survivors think about the route YOU would take and cut them off. Found a worked on gen and no survivors? Think about it, if you were the survivor and saw you coming what would you do? If the answer is hide behind that rock... Then go check that rock.
