Bad map design is the root of all issues in this game
If you're playing a killer who can't bypass pallets or loops in some way then you might as well give up because the map design in this game will simply break your kneecaps.
I made the mistake of trying to play DbD after close to two weeks of taking a break from it and immediately regretted the decision. Maps like Badham, RPD and Eyrie of Crows are so blatantly unfair for m1 killers that you can't compete, it's simply not possible.
Some survivors might argue that Eyrie is now more fair to play on but that's not true, reducing the size of the map merely made it easier to chain the structures and loops on this map. You literally can get to a safe structure within 2-3 seconds from the last one and the mainbuilding is still an infinite loop which requires you to painstakingly break every single door.
Badham has one of the most busted mainbuildings of any map in the game with two very strong loops (top and bottom floor) which can be chained into each other while offering survivors FOUR (!!) god pallets in the building alone. That's absolutely ridiculous.
RPD is pretty much self-explanatory, the amount of pallets on this map is absolutely unreasonable. During an earlier match I saw TWO pallets standing NEXT TO EACH OTHER close to the roof gen, now that's more than questionable.
The recent update which introduced the Skull Merchant's camp to the McMilan forest map added yet another broken map to the rotation. Those who are familiar with the window at the bottom floor of the camp will discover a literal infinite loop. There's an extremely long L shaped wall which the survivor(s) can abuse just to vault the window from the other side again until it's entity blocked. How on earth did this not get fixed yet?
Even if the healing changes go through it will change NOTHING for weaker killers since survivors will still rely on extremely questionable map design to waste as much of the killer's time as possible. Instead of Dead Hard they might bring Sprint Burst or Lithe and Adrenaline will be paired with Resilience and Prove Thyself to make sure gens fly faster than ever. Meanwhile gen regression is about to get gutted for good.
I fear BHVR might pander to the survivor community again by reverting most of the changes while keeping the killer perk nerfs. Meanwhile the godawful map design will keep filtering killers until no one plays m1 killers anymore. BHVR are merely shooting themselves in the foot by reducing the pool of viable killers which inevitably leads to lack of diversity. Also who in their right mind would want to buy a skin for a killer they won't play anyway?
