Why are so many survivors giving up after the patch??

I updated my game about an hour ago since I had some free time and it's been miserable. My teammates are not doing gens, going AFK, disconnecting, etc. I haven't had a normal game since I started playing. I didn't think the update was that bad, lol.

For me it's just another day in the entity's realm. Nothing unusual.

I just took a month break and don't notice any difference in survivor give up/DC. Feels like there is an increase in survivors purposely screwing over teammates today by unhooking in killers face right when they hook or running killer by teammates working on gens.

But sadly if you look at both sides I think Killer got a little bigger Nerf salad. But that's just my observation in the whole thing. I thinkany changes were needed I'm just upset that Gen Speed Toolboxes and BNP were not looked at when they did another round of Regression Nerfs

You can still do it, but twice a match. I don't see the problem

Yeah, I tried to play a few survivor matches and in every one at least one person gave up or DC'd. In one, my entire team DC'd and the killer let me take hatch. i can't even get a feel for how things are right now because no one will play.

I honestly haven't noticed this but tbf I gave up playing survivor when my first game was basement trapper. Switched to killer after that and only saw 1 dc.

Suicide to boost Killrates to provoke devs to revert changes. Same childish crap like after 6.1.0. Its propaganda.

Well considering matchmaking is all over the shop, there is every possibility you're getting some killers who legit don't know how to create and maintain pressure. There isn't anything to say about a camping Bubba other than "Saw is Family" and just let it happen.

Depending on the killer being played they may not have the tools necessary to maintain consistent pressure without slowdown. Though that is purely at base kit and folks have been in a perpetual slowdown meta for years so it will take some time for folks to figure out how to work with new stuff.

This doesn't work though. Like artificially inflating killrates would need to happen of such a huge scale to provoke a revert and at that point it would be even more obvious that they're doing it on purpose.

Killers have two objectives. Keep gens from turning on and murder the survivors. The devs are actively making the former harder and the latter easier. Including a new big old juicy carrot for tunneling, camping, and slugging in the form of never needing to deal with Dead Hard ever again.

Why are you surprised that more killer players are picking up what the devs are putting down?

i still see DH in majority of my games. They run the DH / BL build. Just don’t have to worry about DH the first chase, but after that it’s all the same as before.

I mean I can kind of see why they would maybe give up. But at the time how are they giving up? I mean from my experience they barely give up. I even took a break from this game and first thing I had to deal with were I believe a gen rush squad. But then again everyone experience is different and that’s okay.

So in mine and my friend's case, our game is just bugging out, me and the rest of the lobby just got kicked from the game and my friend's controller is EMPing his Xbox causing the internet to shut off.

It also looks like the frame rate is worse

Funny, I've seen a lot of tunneling killers today

I've been killing myself because 1. My teammates won't do gens. 2. My teammates unhook right infront of the killer causing them to tunnel and camp to get more kills. 3. Teammates refuse to heal each other, not a clue as to why, they just completely ignore the injured person. This has been every single one of my matches, everytime when I think I have good teammates during my solo queue experience, they unhook in front of the killer getting themselves killed, and now I'm just over it and not committing to the game at all, just playing for XP.....

I tried play today but, i couldnt stand about how terrible MMR is. Honstly, i went against P100 Oni, Midwitch nurse, Hidden lament configuration Cenobite, and my teammates? Hidden with their urban evasion , grab in a locker, looking for itens in a chest while 1 person die on floor and another in the hook. Honestly, SoloQ is the worse experience in this game. i want say a lot of words about what i think about this MMR, but, i would be banned. I close the game after 3 terrible matches in a row. No more games today, and probably no more survivor game for this week.

Because killers never have a tantrum when their toys get nerfed.

It's not surprise so much as disappointment. I've been playing this game too long to be surprised by player behavior--doesn't really stop me from wanting more out of the community, tho.

I'm also not convinced anyone needs to camp & tunnel to win their games. It's just low hanging fruit.

Take the Bubba in my screenshot for example.. he hooked me with 5 gens left. I didn't even get a chase out of him, because Mikaela predropped 2 pallets and I was the lucky Survivor to learn he had Spirit Fury. 30 seconds into the game, and he was fed 2 pallets instantly with Spirit Fury. He did not need to camp me--Mikaela was willing to hand him perk value on a silver platter.

5 gens left when he hooked me, yet had just one survivor brought Reassurance, he would have lost with 1k. You can't tell me the devs are pushing killers to camp and tunnel when it is the worst strategy on paper. It only works because Survivors don't want to take the game seriously.

I can and I am claiming the Devs are pushing more killers to Tunnel and Camp.

Why? Because every patch since and including 6.1 has either directly or indirectly promoted it. Whether it is drastically weakening survivor defenses against it or butchering other options so they aren't options anymore... literally every patch has promoted it.

I'm gonna be honest here, 6.1 was terrible for the game, and I don't think even reverting all the changes until before that patch would make the game any better anymore, because at this point it's not about the nerfs themselves.

I personally didn't experience many rage dcs or people giving up right at the start of the match before 6.1. I'd queue, have some relative chance of escaping (not 70%, as many people seem to think. Soloq wasn't that successful, not even then), and if we made it out, we made it out, and if we didn't, we didn't. But ever since that patch, the community tolerance to frustration is on the floor.

"I've been found first? Ah, damn. I'm probably not making it out alive anyways. I'll just suicide.", "Oof, it's a nurse? I'm not even going to try and find out if it's a good one, I'm not getting slugged today.", "Ah, Bubba camping. Again. Welp, let's just speed things up."

And I know what you guys are going to say, but I'm not even gonna pretend this is not affecting me. After a losing streak, seeing things like a Claudette getting yanked out of a locker on the first 15 seconds of the match (And this is a thing that actually happened) just immediately makes me sigh out of despair and just close the game and walk away.

Soloq is on a terrible state. So much so that you can immediately foresee how the match is gonna go just by experiencing the first 30 seconds of a match. And I know, because even at the cost of my sanity, I'm the kind of guy that often tries to see a match till the end (and I even spectate matches before leaving depending on how things are going).
