SBMM Adjustments Or Critical Playerbase Level?

I was wondering if maybe someone on the dev team could let us know if there have been significant changes made to the SBMM system in the past couple of days/weeks. I understand that the specifics must be kept a secret to avoid people abusing the matchmaking, but with both streamers and forum users expressing the same distinct and noticeable changes to the quality of their matches that I have, I can't accept the "just an unlucky set of games" explanation anymore. If the algorithm has remained untouched, the only other reason that I can think of as to why things went south from literally one day to the next is that there just simply isn't enough players for SBMM to "function" (I use the term very loosely of course) and the pairing of players is now genuinely the same as a completely randomized lottery style matchmaking.

Please note that this isn't about the mid chapter update, the issue has been present before the significant perk overhaul and isn't the adjustment to the new meta.

It has felt off for a while. I even notice it in killer games. We really need to be able to see MMR in matches to give feedback on this stuff. Players should be able to alert devs to bugs if there are indeed bugs. It's ridiculous that we can only say "matches feel weird". That's not an actionable item. An actionable item would be "Hey, I'm consistently noticing players below 1300 MMR in my matches where everyone else is above 1700. That's well beyond the stated max range. Is this a bug?" Elitism is not a valid excuse for hiding MMR when MMR determines the playability of a match in many cases.
