Should self care be buffed?

I'll cut straight to the chase here, since the recent changes I think self care could use a small buff, nothing huge that would make it replace medkits or old circle of healing but something that could give survivors a better alternative to inner healing or relying on teammates.

I've done some math on this to back up my claim. Currently a self care at 35% healing speed heals you in 45.71s.

If we buffed it back up to 50% (which is not what I suggest happens) it would go down to 32s, however something more balanced imo would be in between 45%, at 35.5555s and 40% at 40s.

The sweet spot lies around the 42% mark at 38.1s which would balance it both around healing speed buff perks and mangled/healing speed nerf perks.

I'm putting this out here because I'm curious on what the internet's thoughts are on this idea, so go nuts in the comments I guess :p

I've been using it since the update with botany and resilience and I'm loving it. I hate relying on others for heals and med kits are useless now. Also botany and resilience are both great perks on their own.

I guess I'm looking at the nerf to med kits as a sort of buff to self care. I loaded into like 90% of matches with med kits prior to this update. Now it's going to be toolboxes or flashlight I guess.

I use Self Care with Botany for 30 second heals (or 37 sec. in case of Sloppy). Definitely more usable than Self Care alone. But I'm afraid if we buffed Self Care that we'd need to nerf Botany, otherwise it'd be to fast for unlimited item-less heals.

That's why CoH was a problem.

That's the thing tho, you have to have a build centered around it which not everyone has or wants to do. However, I do agree that if self care was buffed botany would have to be toned back down

It would most likely get reverted back to 33% or kept around 40% mark.

No. The update ways for a survivor to self heal. Buffing self-care would directly oppose the goal of the update.

What would be point of nerfing self healing, when you buff it again. On infinite healing perk...

The thing is, self care at 45s is almost twice the time it takes to heal with a medkit. If you start running it because of the recent changes you lowkey become a detriment to your team because you're not spending that time on a gen. Which is why I'm only suggesting a small buff.

My own thoughts for a Self-Care buff were

    1. Self-Care's healing speed can not be reduced lower than its base 35% (so an anti heal build can prevent you from increasing the speed but still enable its use otherwise)

    And/Or

    2. Reduce or negate the 33% speed penalty when healing yourself with a medkit (pre-update medkits at the cost of a perk slot)

I like the idea of there being a slowdown limit for healing, that way it stops it being too oppressive. Nice thinking!

I've generally thought that having caps or diminishing returns on certain stackable mechanics would probably alleviate a few issues. Pre-nerf Call of Brine and Overcharge wouldn't be half the problem they were, for example, if they couldn't combine past 100% extra regression.

For Self-Care in particular, I figure one of the biggest hits against it is its already slow heal-speed being even further slowed by something like Sloppy Butcher or similar functionally worthless. Ironically, however, making it unable to go lower than its base healing speed means it may have a niche against anti-heal builds.

Self care needs a huge buff, without botany and resilience you'll be sitting there for a whole minute praying to God the killer doesn't have nurses calling or stumble upon you or get hit with random shock doc ######### or roaming zombies etc. The game is totally ######### for soloq players as apparently they balance with top tier swf lol....I like running botany because I can heal my mates way faster through all the heal debuff garbage.

the funny thing is, I swear there was a heal cap once upon a time for healing speed (100 percent) Before circle of healing? We'll make it used to not be able to, or still can't go above its amount. So I'm not sure why slowdown doesn't function the same.
