This game is so much better when you take it less seriously

Tonight, I logged in and played Dead By Daylight for the first time in days. I feel like I needed to change my attitude towards the game. I wasn't having fun all this time, I treated it as some kind of competition. And that just agitated me when I played DBD. So tonight, I instead logged in to have some damn fun with the game! Who cares if all the survivors escape? So what if you depip? Just go in game, play, and have fun. And you know what? I did. I had fun with DBD instead of going all tryhard, and it was awesome.

Yeah I recently did the same thing. Of course I have my moments of frustration but I've recently decided to challenge myself by trying to gain the trophies on this game, doing different builds, and being more helpful for my teammates instead of being as selfish. No SWF just another solo survivor main chilling!

Wait I'll take your advice and take it less seriously from now on. Hopefully I'll have more fun as survivor.

Does that mean it's a game for casuals with no real competition value?

    It’s always been casual

I completely agree. I went from try hard camping my way to rank one with Michael on old system to the point where now I have a ton of different builds for different play styles and don’t care if I 4k or not.

But don’t get me wrong, if I lose a few matches, someone is gonna get it. I have go to Michael strategies that almost guarantees me a 4k lol.

The legion is an amazing killer for simply building points. When double points kicks in I’m gonna be getting 100k points every match with a pudding or streamers.

The only time I’m selfish as a survivor is when two of us are left. You’re dying on the hook. But if I’m on the hook I always killl myself so they can get the hatch.

    No I think he’s saying it’s a process.

I wish I had video of my matches as a survivor in August 2017.

I played so scared, hiding in lockers constantly, staying on the outside of the map, not helping others, probably pissing people off lol.

But one thing I read on a forum once was as you get better at the game, you’ll be in the middle of the map a lot more. Someone answered a question about the usefulness of calm spirit. The crows are on the outer parts of the map. As you get better you will be in the middle more.

now as survivor I try to get the middle gen done first.

Your suggestion is wrong on so many levels, but above all, morally.
It's not for fun. It's a sacred duty: survivors must die. Whatever the cost.

I mean, good for you to enjoy the game.
But some people love playing the game seriously.

No, you must escape or get those 4 deaths. No compromises.

Besides, playing a video game is serious business. And we all know that by looking at the DBD forums.

You come here and preach that players should have fun with a game?!

    Heresy!

    Yes, this is sarcasm.

And that's fine, I ain't looking down on anyone for how they play. But for me, I've let all the toxicity of other players get to me too much, let it agitate me. I'm not letting that happen anymore is all. I'm just gonna go in game, and play. No try harding, no getting agitated with toxic players. Whatever happens, happens. As long as I'm having fun, that's all that matters.

I'm the same as what you're being now.
