Aura reading not working in tutorial section (PS5)

A friend of mine just bought the game and I was watching him play through the tutorial. He did the survivor and killer section fine, but when he hit the part to play with bots, he couldn't see the usual auras. The auras of teammates on the hook were missing as survivor. As killer he couldn't see the aura of bear traps, generators, or hooks when picking people up. Unsure as to why
