"Teammates" are using my Empathic Connection aura to save their own hide

Why is an injured survivor who's being chased able to see my aura via Empathic Connection in the first place? It's not even possible for me to heal them mid-chase! It's +10% heal speed, not an instant For The People health state.

It should be that if they lose the killer, THEN they can see my aura and come to me to get healed up. Stop enabling griefers, and stop tempting selfish scaredy-cats who just want to ditch the killer on me!

It's not a matter of balance.

WHAT downsides are there for hiding Empathic Connection's aura from injured survivors while they're in chase??

They accidentally bring the killer my way (because they didn't know I was there), instead of intentionally bringing the killer to me? At least I can hear them coming and get out of the way or offer a protection hit. Currently, if I try to get out of the way, they STILL SEE ME and change course too! They haven't been hooked yet. They're not on death-hook. I shouldn't be FORCED to take a protection hit!

Empathy is different. I can see injured survivors, but they can't see my aura and cannot kite the killer into me on purpose unless THEY have Empthay and I'M injured. Empathic Connection lets them see me and sandbag me.

    Just had this happen again.

I used Empathic Connection, For the People, Resilience, and Prove Thyself in hopes of an injured survivor (outside of chase) coming to my gen for aid, me using FTP on them, and then both of us slamming the gen with my Resilience and Prove Thyself buffs.

Nope. Instead, I had to spend ~40 seconds trying to convince the death-hook Mikaela to come out the basement locker so I could heal her with For The People.

Then, when all the gens are done, the injured Rebecca (who hasn't been hooked yet), kites the killer straight to me (even though I'm injured, meaning no For the People insta-heal, and have been hooked once before). If not for the Feng risking her life, I would've died and Rebecca would've gotten away Scott-free.

    ----

Do not show my aura to injured survivors while they are being chased. Please!

You can use empathy instead, I'd personally want to keep empathics aura reading when in chase. I understand the frustration but it's one of the only perks I can save players being tunneled (on death hook), if they run through me while I have hooks spare absoloutley they should.

Don't let some bad players ruin the perk for you. you could always use wiretap to reveal the gen you are working on instead and also see where the killer is

Empathy shows me their aura, meaning I have to leave the gen, hunt them down, heal them up, and then run back to the gen; and then there's a chance they don't even follow me back for Prove Thyself value.

Running Empathy should be enough to go to the death-hook survivor and bodyblock for them or take aggro. They could even buff Empathy to show you the auras of all injured AND death-hook survivors.

    Just stop griefers.

    You can stop griefers

    by removing the thing

    that enables their griefing.

Pick a different perk my dude.

Bro people are going to grief regardless. Just stop running the perk. I have survivors bee line to gens they know are being worked on in hopes of the killer not chasing them.

Solo queue is just like that unfortunately. You provided a pretty decent change to the perk which makes sense so I don't understand why people are blaming you for trying to be altruistic. By telling someone to choose another perk you're basically saying that the perk is obsolete and NEEDS a rework/adjustment in order to be relevant which is what you provided. I'm sorry that you received all these replies from people that run meta perks and don't care about the rest. Empathy and Empathic Connection serve two different purposes and asking you to switch won't make the problem you have go away. When I used empathy I couldn't even bother going to injured survivors because it felt like it was a killer gen perk the amount of time I would have wasted. Empathic Connection is hard to come by in my games and I'm sure the issue you addressed here is the root cause of it.

By the way, people eager to reply, this whole thread is about feedback AND SUGGESTIONS. You should only reply to criticize the suggestion and/or provide valid alternatives or stick up for it. Burying issues doesn't help.
