How is the game right now?(Quitted around The Knight release)

I quitted mostly because I got burned out and got tired of the constant toxicity and the rise of hackers.

Is the game still suffering from the same issues most people complain about? I think i've watched and Otz video a while back saying something about ddos still happening even if you're not a streamer and that you can get ddosed just by being in the lobby with someone that's being targeted, is this still an issue?

I still watch dbd content from time to time but I didn't bring myself to install the game again this time like I usually do after a few months?

I see the numbers dont look good either, but I expect a huge spike in playerbase in the anniversary chapter.

Firstly, if by numbers you mean Steam, that's a really small percentage of the playerbase. Another website you could check is the below link:

This too has some flaws, as although it counts all platforms, it does include mobile which is effectively a second game. However, it's still probably a better idea of DBD popularity, compared to Steam.

However, across the board "Tools of Torment" really took a hit on the playerbase (approx half a million left).

However, since the midchapter patch, I'd say games have been much better. I feel the changes were very effective and has improved the health of the game. They do need to rework Skull Merchant desperately (not so worried about the Knight - I've never seen the problem about him), but their midchapter has been much more focused on feedback, making some of the changes far better than before.

Maybe wait for the anniversary before returning, but in my opinion the game is in a good place in terms of gameplay and balance (or as well as anyone can balance an assymetrical game!).

The Skull Merchant is made almost especially for gen protection. When you compare her power to the powers of The Executioner, The Artist and maybe some others, the game actively stops you from placing defences close to gens, yet the Skull Merchant actively ignores this with an arguably stronger defence capability. I feel she's been developed at a time BHVR are actively looking to do away with such tactics, which makes it all the more odd.

Yeah, its definetly the worst kind of killer they released at the worst possible time.

I feel like the game would do so much better if they just removed some killers from the game

If you’re chill in either role, your games will be rather chill, at least, that’s how my games have been. Only time they’re not are weekend evenings when all the sweats come out.

I don’t sweat when playing survivor and most killers I get are at my level and I have a good chance to waste 1-2 gens worth of time in the early game. When playing killer, I go for two hooks each and let them all escape and most of my opponents have been pretty casual. I only kill for challenges or because they were super sweaty or toxic.

I haven’t seen Skull Merchant enough to make an opinion on her and I hardly ever see Nurse or Blight. I think all the complaints about them are from sweaty players who want to win at all costs.

It's worse than ever. Killers camp and tunnel then ask survivors why they gen rush. Every survivor is using lithe or sprint burst, because dead hard got nerfed. Apparently waiting out 0.5 seconds was too much. Gens fly by. 90% of the perks are useless, so the Devs nerf the 10% that aren't.

I agree with this. I don't understand why nerf healing and gen regression but keep all the killer healing regression. It is just really bad. I mean I sucked as killer but then gens fly by I am still able to get that 3K game with 1 gen left. I can't win as survivor because of camping or the joy of us bleeding out. It is just constantly the same thing every game.

Id say its in the worst state in memory, and I have been playing on and off since LAUNCH. Yes back in nov. 2016 I bought this.

It's pretty difficult as Survivor at the moment.

It's probably a lot easier as Killer for me, personally.

Other than SM, the changes have been fairly positive.

Personally I think the game is in a much better spot than it was a few months ago, if you ignore Knight and Skull Merchant.

Dude, same. Not a fan of the forum redesign. I wish they’d revert it.

I stopped playing due to the increased toxicity but decided to return and purchase Skull. I played a little then encountered the same behaviour on both sides (SWF bully squad + constant tunnel / camp). Since 6.7.0 matches have been great. The removal of DH helped a lot. It feels better to play as a killer as the enemy team coordinates their actions better. I find playing the survivor side a tad bit more challenging but I never used DH (I never could properly learn it) so my builds mostly remain the same. I close endgame chats immediately. No arguments, no rage, just having fun as much as possible.
