Dealing with Disconnects in DbD

Hey folks,

So, disconnects (DCs) have been a pain for a while now, right? Killer quits and all survivors escape, but when a survivor DCs, the remaining survivors are left in a tough spot, and the killer gets a nice advantage. What do you think can be done to help even things out a bit?

Automatic gen completion seems way too OP, but maybe a generator speed increase for the remaining survivors? It's got to be something that makes the game a bit more balanced when you're down a survivor. We're not looking to make the game easier, but it's gotta be fair for those left playing.

And what about disconnects that aren't the survivor's fault? There should be some kind of reward for the remaining survivors who have to struggle through the trial. Maybe signifcantly increasing the extra blood points or keeping your items when you die?

Let's hear your thoughts and opinions on this issue. How can DbD handle disconnects in a way that doesn't ruin the game for everyone else? What would make the experience more tolerable for the remaining survivors? Throw in your ideas, and let's see what we can come up with.
