"Bad Connection" when actually my connection is just fine?

Why do I still see the "bad connection" icons come up on the UI despite having a solid internet connection (wired 300+mbps down) AND having ports forwarded for Dead by Daylight to run even smoother online? Don't really know how to check within the game so just asking.
