Is trapper ever getting the buff he desperately needs?

Such a weak killer, is insane no decent buff has happened in such a long time. The fact that he doesn't just have all his traps from the starts is insane. Why having to go all around the map to collect them? That makes no sense. And the trapper sack is such a bad add on, yes you start with all the traps, but you cannot pick them up again? Really? That is way too weak for a purple add on.

Start with all traps in his hand is more insane than without.

I'd settle for spawning logic that keeps all traps roughly near the middle of the map.

While I agree I want him buffed a but, he is exactly that 'Such a weak killer.'

Just wanted to step in and correct* this line of thinking. Carry on!

*Correct means by giving no logic why I think they are or aren't a weak killer yet the original post shows points why he thinks he is a weak killer @Spare_Them_Mori_Me

Trapper can be very strong. The problem is, that he so much depends on basement to do that, that it makes his gameplay quite linear and frankly - boring for both sides. Use a few traps in critical best loops, leave ~3 for a basement and carry everyone you manage to catch into said basement. Rinse and repeat.

Also in low MMR, trapper is super strong. It doesn't take much brain effort to use traps in a grass and in that environment survivors will just not notice/expect trap to be there.

Overall I agree that the killer IS weak (I would say he belongs to the group of weakest killers). But saying that he's desperately bad is.... Overstatement.

Correct this line? Trapper is by far the weakest killer in the roster. He can snowball and have his moments but so can every killer. Compared to every other killer in the game he definitely the worst.

Points raised why he is 'strong':

"...depends on basement to do that..." that is the opposite of an point why he is strong

"Use a few traps in critical best loops, leave"

Critical points are expected by survivors and by the time a Trapper has setup his first hidden trap it will be his last in my SWF. We use communications and a couple of us will watch where he places his traps whilst letting others know where they are, anything tricky they are always disabled.

" ~3 for a basement and carry everyone you manage to catch into said basement. "

Unless you are specifically a basement trapper with perks you are never going to get 3 traps ready for the basement.

"Also in low MMR, trapper is super strong."

Any new / low MMR survivor will have a problem with any killer, this does not specifically make Trapper 'super strong'

"It doesn't take much brain effort to use traps in a grass and in that environment survivors will just not notice/expect trap to be there."

Except there isn't grass everywhere and when playing on maps with grass you go wide as solo and survivors do expect traps to be in the grass, no?

The original poster was pointing out to actually walk across the map to gain the killers power is a waste of time, something very very obvious that was botched up with an add-on that gives Trapper all the traps but then can't move them!!!

Basically Trapper is like the majority of killers, nerfed to such an extent that new perks don't cause them to be strong... I mean just look at the attempt to nerf Billy even more!!!

When you get good at this game and start to think... I wish killers could actually challenge me rather than having the new killers be at some level of strength before eventually being nerfed.

As any other killer, few months after the release they stop to receive any buff, tweek, fix or rework, BHVR sold the product then who care if is viable or not. Trapper, Twins, Freddy, Mayers, Sadako and many more killers deserve a rework but no, we're getting a new killer soon and if we're lucky is a good one, if not well...who care product has been sold

Trapper is awful, he has no mobility, he has no way to apply pressure, his power is 100% RNG based, in almost every map his trap are visible my miles away and way too much predictable. This killer was good when the game came out but now is just a sad relic of the past and, soon, other killers will follow this path until the only viable killers are the same group of 10/12 over 30+

    Yes Trapper is weak

And my magic eight ball says "no" to him ever getting a buff, but I think that's the case for most of the older killers anyways

    Do you have many kills?

I main Trapper and Plague and have over 4k kills in a short period of playing as a killer main, and as much as I love Trapper I can tell you he is very hard to play at high MMR. Once you start getting a lot of SWFs, or just very experienced players in general..he is very easily outplayed.

So whether you want to call him "weak" or just easy to outplay, is just a word game..but with experienced players he relies heavily on snowballing or survivor mistakes, and with experienced and/or coordinated players, that is not as often as you would like it to be.

trapper is a killer that depends on addons, if you don't use it will be complicated.
