Regression Stacking should be Removed
In the current state of Dead by Daylight, perks and add-ons that currently cause regression can stack. This is an unhealthy part of the game that can lead to games lasting far longer than they need to be and limits Perk variety and potential.
For those that need examples, regression stacking is either of the following:
- Call of Brine and Overcharge can combine to go up to 155% gradual regression after damaging a Generator.
- Eruption and Jolt can combine to go up to 18% instant progression loss after both activate.
- Overcharge and Huntress Lullaby can combine to go up to 10% additional progression loss.
- Pop Goes the Weasel and Call of Brine can combine to apply 20% loss of progression to current progression and 125% gradual regression after damaging a Generator.
Now this in and of itself is a problem not just because it can make games last longer, but also because it can cause unnecessary changes to Perks that wouldn't have needed them had the ability to stack been removed.
So what should be done about this? The answer is simple:
- Perks that cause instant loss of progression and/or increase regression speeds of Generators can no longer stack with each other.
And to really ensure that there would be a lot more perk variety and less incentive to try to use as much regression perks as possible in your builds:
- Perks that apply regression now have a cooldown of 15 seconds that prevent other regression perks from activating, with exception to Pop Goes the Weasel (due to it having a timer).
This would create a significantly healthier game as regression would not be nearly as problematic as it should be, and some perks can be changed or altered to have greater effect without the risk of them being too powerful.

No.
Survivors can stack gen progression, so Killers should be able to stack gen regression.

By 'healthier' you mean 'Survivors would be happy with more wins and who cares about Killers'?

Can I just ask, do you think eruption was fair when the incapacitation lasted for 25s? Just curious based on the other things you've said on the forums lmao

bro cob give 3.7% regress in minut
you cant be serious

That has nothing to do with whining that Killers should not be able to stack regression perks while Survivors 4-man SWF, bring BNPs, purple toolkits, and every genspeed perk they can, and knock out 5 gens in 3 minutes.
But of course Survivor mains scream that the Killer trying to win is 'unfair' and need to change 'for the health of the game'. 🙄

Just asking u a question bro, really should be an easy no

Just asking a question that has nothing to do with the topic at hand, unless you're looking for a way to dismiss opinions.
But old Eruption was too strong, yes.

Ok :) was just curious since atp I expect your answer to everything too strong on the killer side to be "it's not problematic, but of course survivor mains think it is they just want free escapes" you're one to talk about dismissal lmao

You are wrong.
Fact of the matter is that usually regression perks being strong is healthy for the game. For one very simple reason.
They make killers less likely to tunnel, camp, and slug.

So you are saying stacking progression bonuses as well as toolboxes, brand new parts, and built to last should also receive the same treatment? 🤔

not really? the killer tunnel, camp and slug is killer decision. you can equip jolt and do all those 3 actions. The change with pain res recently has made killers more campy because if your first hook is a pain res hook, you can purposely camp hooks because 2nd hook is another 25% from hook trade. even more annoying when the perk is paired with deadlock that passively blocks gens.

Yes really.
A killer who feels like they're in control of the game is less likely to feel like they need to engage in those behaviors. Most killers know that those tactics aren't fun to face, so they won't use them unless they need to or survivors drop a perfect opportunity into their laps. But if the gens start spiraling out of control, then they'll reach for those strats because they don't want to get stomped. Regression helps them stay in control.
The only real exception to this is Deadlock, which does its thing no matter what.

I disagree. Most killer that are in the mindset that they are going lose will start tunneling and camping right from the start the game. The meta perks are often used along side the meta strategies of the game. A killer that runs Deadlock+Pain res+Jolt can camp, tunnel and slug right from get go while using those perks. You can reap double benefits by using the perks and applying the winning formula.

Not sure why there is a reason to complain about this when regression perks in general have been gutted.

Honestly this would be the way to go, as long as the number gets multiplied by two or three, or even have a "regression slot".

OP's idea would work, provided devs at the same time buff all regression perks. The result would be a little lower regression for extra perk slot (and sometimes it could be even better with stronger regression applied on down (jolt) follower by stronger regression when hooking because 15s passed (pain res) followed by gen kick (pop)).
However - I don't trust devs to do both things at the same time (and think about all combinations/situations possible). This makes the idea just pure bad.

Most killers start matches thinking "I'm going to lose"?
