Tbh it pains me to see every single thread being complaints
Basically what the topic says. I know many complaints have a valid base, but the way they are constantly being brought back in such pitiful ways (no offense, honestly) is kind of a bummer.
I admit I am a new player, I only started playing around May 2022, but guys, the game is still fun. We have a dev team who is actually commited to the game and their playerbase. Seriously, we are lucky to have them. They are constantly trying to improve the game. Granted, some changes may not be right sometimes, but then they'll listen to feedback and right their wrongs.
It's a fun game, even though there are still matches which might be awful due to some players' attitude, but sadly that's something devs cannot change without completely reworking core aspects of the game. So can we please enjoy the game without whining SO much about it by creating tons of threads stating the same complaints? I really am not trying to be offensive, honest, but there are so many people complaining so bitterly that I seriously don't understand why some keep playing.
Please, please, let's try to be more positive, shall we? I can't imagine being a dev who has to put up with reading nothing but negative, aggressive feedback for so long. Try to be empathetic. And give them at least the chance to improve what you don't like.
I, for one, have complaints too, but have to say that I love this game and still enjoy it so much.

a lot of the bad vibes here on the forums come from players creating an echo chamber. because the developer almost never explains his point of view or enters into a dialogue with the players. a lot could be explained with data that players don't have access to. mmr system, i'm looking at you.
the main task of the moderators is to move, delete and censor posts. the community managers only answer hand-picked questions that have no relation to the current game and its state.
that's why the players feel ignored and every time a player is bothered by something a new thread is opened. because in the old ones there was never an answer to their problems.
ps: also the search in the forum is a horror. seriously.

I think most people are drawn to official forums when they have some sort of complaint or grievance. It's probably the main reason they sign up for an account.

I think it's natural to complain when you don't like something, I really do. No significant change in history has been achieved without protest. But I don't know, all I see lately whenever I enter the forums are threads always complaining about the same things, usually the old 'us vs them' topic, which I understand to an extent, and always in what I see as destructive criticism and pessimistic thinking.
As Veroles said, they have to try tweaking things in order to achieve balance. Possibly they'll be wrong more times than not, but the fact that they're trying is quite important, and tbh I find it refreshing, since it's always evolving, suppossedly towards greater balance.
In regards to dev team feedback and interaction with players, I guess it's a valid point and I think they're actually addressing that, but I can still understand why they don't provide us with all the data we ask for. It's ok to ask for it, but personally, I find it acceptable they do not as long as we see them involved with making the game better for everyone. And with some delicate issues like facecamping / tunnelling and such they obvioulsy need to try different things, see how they work and then tweak them again. I don't expect an ever-evolving game to be perfect in a few days. I'm not sure, for one, on some survivor perks from Gabriel or how the anti-face camping will work, but I'm glad they're doing it and I trust them with keeping an eye on it for further improvement.
After all, always imo, the game is still quite enjoyable for the most part, so even if it goes a bit worse for one side for a week, I won't go 'the game is garbage / the game is dead /uninstalling / devs favor this side', which is pretty much a common theme in many threads.
This thread itself has become actually a complain topic, which is not entirely what I wanted. I want to put an emphasys on me enjoying the game and the fact that I think many people do or else they would have stopped playing, so maybe a bit of love for the devs and optimistic attitude among us would be nice.

Complaints are a good way to rant and feel better for getting something off your chest. Medicinal even.
But the toxic rants and the toxic reply from some is neither helpful or warranted.
Instead of constructive feedback to perhaps help a struggling or newer player you get stupid comments about skill level forgetting everyone was new to the game at some point.
If you think you're good at the game offer help or pointers not derision.
Until people realise this is a video game and nothing more than pixels on a screen I fear some people will rather just be toxic.
I'm a casual killer main - so casual I don't use add-ons because I can't be bothered to read what they do.

This is kinda the case with almost every forum out there. DbD has it really bad but in general people who are content don't tend to feel a need to share why they are content. People who are unhappy have a strong tendancy to atleast rant about it

That's completely and undeniably true. I don't know, I bascially created my account to share concepts I had of killers with the community but that's just dead, so I just wish people used their time in forums more to discuss builds and killers objectively, instead of just survivors complaining about killers and viceversa.

Personally, I have no issues with the threads being about complaints as long as there are recommendations or proper explanation. Also, this is a much better forum than the one on Steam which is full of toxicity. People immediately check out each other's Steam profile to see how many hours were invested in DbD and decide if the comment is acceptable based solely on such numbers.
I have been an avid fan of DbD ever since I started playing it back in 2021. My complaints are mainly related to toxic people - kids being rude that are here to compensate for something. And to be honest when you manage to find their Steam profile and see they have VAC bans (often in multiple games) that says a lot. But we can't filter and our best bet is to do reporting.

Same here. I understand that pointing out problems is necessary, and at the same time it can get exhausting. People want changes made to ease their frustrations and such.
I have fun playing and I play a lot though, fwiw.
The reason I made this account was to ask a question and also to support Claire getting other outfits, along with Lengendaries possibly being their own characters. I want a bloody outfit for Lisa.
Anyway, there are some positive threads here and there, could always check those out or make one as well!

It's fine to voice an opinion on balance for the game. But it usually starts with "I'm a great player, but I lose to players who are worse than me bacause BHVR favours the other side and doesn't care about meeeeeeeee". There's no point in trying to constructively engage with people who act like this. Just poke the bear, have a quick laugh and move on.

Agree. Devs do read the forums and they need to know the common things that frustrate players.

People complaining is a very good thing. Dev teams would rather heavy complaining than none at all. If players are complaining then that means they care enough about the game to complain about aspects they don't like. If players keep making the same complaint then maybe there's something wrong.
You can even look at some of the emotionally charged complaints and can gather things from that. If someone is blowing off steam because something frustrates them that much then that's something worth noting. It shows the Devs that there are certain areas of the game that are evoking such a strong reaction, and I doubt they want their game to be doing that.

I've been playing since 2016 so for me complaints are all I have left in me. I think it is that way for a lot of people right now because while the devs do a good job with keeping the game flush with content updates and fixes we don't understand their decision making process. Issues we've been complaining about for years are only just now being addressed if they are being addressed at all. We don't get a lot of feedback which is understandable, but it means the same complaints will keep getting lodged. Right now is especially bad because we've had two chapters that have really highlighted what are old problems greatly. Killers don't feel motivated to play in more interesting ways and survivors don't really have any other ways to engage with the game.
There isn't much to say about perk builds as most people run whatever is generally meta or the hot new streamer build. Which then just tints the complaints to be perk or addon flavored rather than general gameplay flavored.

Yeah, I guess I don't know about a lot of stuff that they had to change before, but it's like all I see lately follows this pattern: devs do something -> it's bad -> devs do other thing -> it's worse -> devs buff killers -> it's bad -> devs buff survivors -> it's bad.
Certainly there are lots of things to be fixed or tweaked to get one step close to balance, and yeah, I worry about balance too and think they have a ways to go, but if it drains me to see complaints everywhere the moment they do anything, I can't imagine how they will feel.

Many issues and concerns with DBD can be very frustrating, especially those that either take a long time to be addressed or have been with us for a long while. Our passion for this game we care so much about and want to see be awesomer can lead to strong discussions here & elsewhere. It can also lead to venting, both good and bad.
Additionally I do strongly believe those of us who haven't played both roles to a competent level (often called "mains" in just one role) fail to have empathy for the other side, creating a definite bias.

Don't forget that there are people who complain and don't play DBD any more (or they play very rarely). For some reason they're more addicted to complaining than playing the game. So I am often confused as to why they post on this forum when they don't play DBD anymore. Maybe something is wrong in their life and they need to complain about something unrelated?
