Minor change to carry/hook mechanics for small/stealthy killers?
So I've picked up DbD recently, and been enjoying it alot, and it's rekindled my love of slasher and horror films, so I'm going back and rewatching a lot of my favourites.
I've been playing the Pig as my main, and one thing that jumped in my mind rewatching SAW is Amanda Young canonical is 107lbs, and its a big plot point to introduce Officer Hoffman as the muscle in Jigsaws plans.
When I picked up a David King in game the other day, it just struck me as just a tad odd thinking of Amanda carrying this big burly guy from Manchester on her shoulder, and it got me thinking... since the Cenobite, Dredge and Onryo have their unique carry style to remain sensible to the character, could small stealth killers get the same?
Instead of picking up survivors on their shoulder, small stealth killers like Pig, Ghost Face, or Nightmare could turn their victims over onto their back, and grab their shoulder to drag their victims away. When hooking, the hooks are on a chain they drag down to the survivor, and after sticking survivors with it, a winch brings them up. Would also be sensible for characters like Trickster, Legion, maybe even Spirit, etc, so there is this divide between small and large killers. By proxy this makes big guys like Trapper, Billy, Wraith, Cannibal, Executioner, etc, look strong and powerful just by virtue of them carrying their victims where others cannot.
You can of course make it so no gameplay mechanics change like the pallet dropping while being carried perk, etc., however one could also explore having the killer slightly stoop giving stealth killers a slightly smaller profile as they drag away the survivors. This could make flashlight saves a little harder or the survivor being low to the ground makes their camera less able to look at their surroundings... largely inconsequential things but may be fun to play with.
Not really worth the time investment from BHVR most likely, but just as a fan... it would be cool. Maybe if ever there was a desire to promote sales on their stealth killers for an update or skins release whatever it might be an idea. 😅
