Would You Ever Consider Re-Writting Main Game Code?

When certain games like Final Fantasy 8 or Escape From Tarkov, whom have taken the leap to change the game or rewrite their code. Would you ever consider it? I'm sure we all know its a cost sink but the playerbase would be much much happier because it would allow for many features people have been begging for that is not possible with the current game, e.g. replay system, progress progression within multiple platforms, graphics/audio updates, etc.

    It's likely BHVR is already rewriting their code as they implement new features. There's just no reason for BHVR to devote months of work to solely rewrite the entire game when they can do so as needed as it would mean no updates which is a death sentence for a solely multiplayer game.
