Basekit Unbreakable Confirmed To Be Scrapped
Finisher Mori is still being worked on, basekit Unbreakable is done.
I wonder if they are still looking at ways to minimize some of the more...unfun strategies (slugging til bleed-out).

The finisher Mori just needs to be basekit Cypress Mori (and even then, I do not see the point in this). I'm not sure why they're faffing around with other ideas.
Nice to know Unbreakable basekit is off the cards, but my concerns are still a little there if slugging becomes the new preferred state of play. Haven't seen that happening as much now though, so maybe a majority of killers are being careful with this, since it's clear newer mechanics in place are a result of specifically common styles.

Yeah, I don't really get the Finisher Mori either.
Most mori's aren't really that good, although Singularity's was a nice change. Regardless, it just kinda promotes slugging, as it was on the PTB.

You cut off the question which provides context. The question was specifically asking about an update where survivors can ALWAYS recover from dying state.
Doesn't mean survivors couldn't get a way to pick themselves up. It just won't be free and unlimited.

That's a relief, slugging isn't nearly prevalent enough nor strong enough to warrant such a massive survivor buff.

Perhaps they mean as an individual update, there's no UB basekit. But the Finisher Mori needs basekit UB hand-in-hand to incentivise hooks still otherwise it'll just be a slug fest. I'd be done with the game at that point.

Honestly this whole situation reminds me A LOT of when they were testing hatch closing (which eventually turned into the Endgame Collapse), where it took them roughly a year to finalize things.

I totally agree that Unbreakable basekit (22s self-pickups) would be bad, but the 45s gave even the most snowbally Oni more than enough time to hook everyone they downed in power.
As far as finisher Mori/other basekit Mori capabilities, I think 8 hooking (with no kills) would be a good unlock condition. This would allow Killers in easier matches to purposely go for a greater win con (ala Star Fox 64 Mission Complete vs Mission Accomplished). It would be a great way to spread the pressure in a natural way, without forcing the playstyle. It would be great for those super high bragging moments. "You got a 4k? Well I got a 4 basekit Mori!" This also might let more people escape only due to greed, in a similar mirror to Survivors facecamped in endgame. The smart move is to just leave, but you can greed for the 4 out. Same with this theoretical Mori system, you can greed for 4 Moris, or take the safe 3/4k.

Yeah, good. Though the version of the finisher mori as it was on that PTB would not really be balanced either without it, so hopefully that looks a bit different too. I honestly don’t have an issue with moris the way they are now. Having them not be in every game is part of what makes them more exciting when they do happen imo.
As for slugging, I think there’s just certain things that should get looked at, such as Sadako, Twins (who we know is getting a rework so hopefully they’ll be less slug-oriented when that releases), Knock Out (mainly just the aura-hiding), and slugging the last 2 survivors for 4k. A widespread survivor buff like base UB wasn’t warranted at all and I’m glad the devs seem to have realized that it wasn’t a good idea.

doesn't finisher mori system come with basekit ub, 45 second recovery time and all that? i thought they meant no basekit ub alone, but finisher mori is being worked on.
