I Think the bigger issue is, as others have pointed out, there is no other primary objective. Can't fault survivors for sticking to gens since thats literally their main job. Its just a shame they either get done far too fast with minimal ability to prevent, or take so long that they find it impossible to keep up with basic killer pressure. It feels like you rarely get much in between depending on the time of day you play.

This is true but it's also the most boring argument that's been made for ages to defend survivors. The OP is referring to the teams that finish the gens in 4-5 minutes. It's boring and there's very little gameplay for either side. And in a lot of cases NOT ALL I'd say it's not even lack of pressure from the killer it's 100% pure survivor efficiency. Thank God half the survivors this game are dumb and don't focus on gens because this game would have been dead ages ago. If every game was against 4-6 minute gens there would be 5 killer plays on each continent and NOED would have a 90% pick rate.
