Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Dear bHVR, I wish to use the Post Game Chat without expecting Abuse.

So if you ever complain about the abuse in this game, one or two messages you get back is:

Don't open the Post Game Chat.

However as a social game, I have experienced normal well adjusted players who know what the rules of the game are who are nice to talk to. A huge bonus for playing, However many Survivors seem fit to ignore the rules of the game and what things the Killer can do in the game and berate and abuse me post game chat for doing things which is supported by bHVR as being the rules of the game.

Now don't take this the wrong way, I don't think Post Game will never be free from abuse and I don't expect it to never exist, but I would expect it to be at least rare and abnormal however it is part of daily life in Dead by Daylight. You get abuse in Post Game Chat FAAAR MORE often than any other game I played, and yes I played Dota2 and League. Obviously its because the game is centered on 4 vs 1 that this is a problem.

bHVR you need to do something at some point, cause its a bleak experience at this point playing Killer.

Everyone in Post Game Chat always hates my guts.

Here are some ideas:

  1. Don't ban a player, ban their chat privilege. Usually it seems bHVR bans abusive players, it would be much better to just ban their chat privileges in forever escalating longer bans from chatting. That way they wont just go to another game and start abusing again. They will just be ground up against our standards of behaviour.
  2. Stand up for proper behaviour in your social media posts, make sure people know and understand what the Killer and Survivor is allowed to do and what they cant flame the Killer over, or Survivor.
  3. Encourage other players (other Survivors) to stand up for other players receiving abuse.
  4. Implement systems for commending ruthlessness and malice for Killers. aka Killers doing their job.
  5. Implement changes to the game that influences the player into being more well adjusted with chat.

I have no psychological training to come up with a better solution, but I hope you hear me and that you too desire to improve these issues. Because if you don't its gonna be bleaker and bleaker from here on out.
