(XBOX DISC EDITION) - Tome Challenges Deselected when Booting up the Game

I play on Xbox One Nightmare Edition. Every time I boot into the game my previously selected tome challenge is unselected and I have to reopen the archives to find it again. Is this an intentional feature?
I have no idea if this is a general problem or a problem specific to disc versions of the game.
