I believe this patch's perk buffs were a bad idea.

So Pop got buffed to something closer to its former strenght and Deja Vu got buffed to counter the 3-gen strat more efficiently: it is now constantly active. I understand why the devs did that and I don't think giving survivors tools against that playstyle is bad on its own. What worries me is that this may make the game less fun by increasing one issue that it still has, even though it used to be worse: the stale meta.

First off, I must say that gen speed has always been one of the most potentially stressful things to deal with while playing kiler. It is in a better state now than it was a few years ago, since you have better base-kit means of applying pressure now. Still, the current survivor meta revolves around brute-forcing thorugh gens as fast as possible, often ignoring healing and other possible actions. That's one of the reasons why gen slowdown perks are still the strongest ones, even after all the nerfs. If you're playing in a time of the day you believe there will be many strong survivor teams, you are strongly incentivized to bring at least one or two of those perks, not only to increase your chances of winning, but also to relieve you of potential pressure in gameplay, since they give you more time.

Even though 6% is a small value, the aura reading and the repair speed increase combined can help survivors to do gens faster, more efficiently and avoid 3-gen formations. It can also stack with other gen-speed perks. If gens will go faster, what will the killers do? They will bring even more gen regression! This goes both ways: if Pop is stronger, survivors will bring more gen-speed perks and more toolboxes.

Also, while I'm aware that why certain killers and some maps can make 3 gen strats insufferable, I'm worried about what solution will end up being chosen. It's important to remind that 3-genning has always been an important tool to protect gens in large maps without resorting to perks and high-mobility killer powers. The devs even recommended a similar tactic once, when Ruin was first reworked: "if you're having trouble on a map like Temple of Purgation and you see two generators way out there, maybe just let them go and protect the other five". Sure, they didn't say anything about the specific 3 last gens, but letting other gens go and focus on a smaller number close together is exactly how forcing 3 gens work.

So, if 3-genning ends up being weakened too much, what will m1 killers do to protect gens? BRING MORE GEN REGRESSION! While I imagine the devs must be at least taking this in consideration, the patch released today makes me worried. I don't want this game to become even more of a tug of war between gen-speed and gen regression builds. It's better when there's more variety between matches and the perks used on them.

I don’t even know why 3 gen still needs to be “countered” when the gen regression perks have been nerfed for the most part.

If anything, this gives non mobile Killers even less reason to leave a certain part of the map for chases.

The deja vu buff was pretty odd

I was using it with resilience and it was a nice speed up
