Soul Guard not applying the Endurance status effect

Perks: Soul Guard. Unbreakable, Off the Record, Decisive Strike
attempting to get "One More Step" achievment
Used Unbreakable to get off ground and Soul Guard had the red timer overlay applied to it, but i did not get the endurance status effect and went down instantly
tried this in multiple games and it never applied the effect, unsure if still able to get up with totems as i always had unbreakable and rarely vs'd killers with totems
