Or why is it camp-and-tunnel-o'clock all day?

There literally wasn't a single match where the killer* wasn't compelled to sweat so much they could fill an entire swimming pool.

*idk about how survs are today, haven't played killer yet.

And here I was just thinking about playing some more again after matches yesterday and the day before had been more fun (and I by no means escaped enough to raise my MMR - escape rate was at maybe... 20%?). I mean, the Rift is nowhere near closing, there's no event going on - sth else going on? Or were the past two days just a fluke? Would be kinda sad :/

The point being? Is being so jaded that you just assume optiomised builds with best add-ons, tunneling, camping, slugging and generally sweating to the point where it seems like your life depends on it and you get un-alived if you lose another gen required now? I observed that my experience from a couple days ago vs today is vastly different and was wondering if there's a reasonable explanation for it.

Everyone got that in the survivor side... The reason? Nobody know, some people say it's because survivor are too powerfull, some other say "because gen speed"

And the other say it's because is "fun" for making survivor miserable and salty

    ??STH??

Two days of no camping and tunneling?

My guess would be they were on a two day break.

    Or

For those two days they lowered their MMR to get easier teams on day three.

"Or why is it camp-and-tunnel-o'clock all day?"

The right question would be "why is it not..."?

Camp and tunnel are the norms these days in SoloQ.

kek. I wasn't aware "sth" was such an unusual shorthand for "something" 😂 Changed it to the long form.

But man, kinda sucks. I kinda wished there was something obvious I was missing - like how people get extra sweaty / mean when grade reset is about to happen or the rift is about to close and they gotta get those pips/challenges. I guess the past days were just a fluke then :( sadge. Back to other games it is then.

You know, I also got a game now, with a killer and survivor who teamed, the killer find us with zero problem, go straight as us, tunneled everyone except one survivor, a dwight, with bond, and when everyone was on the hook (except him) the killer and the survivor just run right/left without hitting them

The survivor go on each gen where a survivor was and miss all skillcheck, the killer come, he flee, and bodyblock the other survivor

You got everything in this game, and it's normal to do that, this kind of behavior are not bannable...

my guess is, that a lot of ppl are now in the red ranks and its easy to lose a pip there but hard to get one.

Short answer: If you've been away from the game for while, welcome back! The game is hyper competitive now on both sides. If you've been playing the whole time then congrats you may have just slid into a higher MMR bracket or sadly you've encountered the regional time slot where the jerks of your server play.

There's not even a hard and fast definition for "camping and tunneling". It's just bland complaining about the killer doing stuff we don't like. Complaining and commiserating just for the sake of it. It's tiresome.

I'm not gonna address all the other weird stuff you said about like iri add-ons(most are pointless)? And slugging? Just bizzare.

most generator slowdown has been nerfed into oblivion. There are maybe... 4 good slowdown perks now? And a few of them dont have synergy or dont work with certain playstyles/killers. Lets say you are playing legion... cant use sloppy bc its basic attack on a hit and run killer. Same principle for plenty of other killers, so it makes winning without tunneling much harder. Non tunnelers could just use overbrine and play fair and get great results, now (while still possible) its much harder with the current meta. So people who were teetering between tunneler and fair player have tilted over to tunneler for their wins because its easier than adapting without tunneling.

You indeed quoted the right people there. In most games gens are flying like they are going out of season, so the killer HAS to sweat, if they want to get any inkling of success. And the modern game proceeds so frigging fast, that you can't play nice for a couple of minutes and once things go south shift gears. You either play tough or go home, packing from second 1. If you pick the wrong survivor to chase or they bamboozle you and get away, its already half game-over, with 3 gens popping in unision, to celebrate your unwise decision.

And when you load into a game with that mindset, but are, for whatever reason, matched against mediocre survivors below your skill curve, maybe even some who just had set their mind to fooling around, you will totally walz all over them and slaughter them like its not even funny even more. And those innocent survivors, their hearts might eventually harden, if they get tossed around like that, and decide to swap out their fun builds for one of those gen rushing meta builds, just so that they can play the game. And thus a cool, casual killer gets stomped into the ground mercilessly and t-bagged at the exit gates, and the circle continues.

Oh, and sometimes people are just mean spirited behinds, so you always have this staring nucleus from which the next vicious circle can spawn. The only way we might break this would be a big reset of the game. Go over all the perks, review and revise them, set up hard and fast caps on gen speed, healing speed, gen regression and device a system that punishes tunneling, while rewarding hooks with all survivors alive. The stick will only carry you so far, the carrot is always vastly superior. And if 90% of the peeps dance after the carrot, the 10% who stubbornly want to swim against the current and accept the stick won't negatively impact the whole game and you might laugh such an occasion away.

Uhm Is there any other strat beside those? hit and run will still be easily defeated by some coordination of swfs, 3 gen camping is plain boring, and there is literally no reason to spread hooks because that is not even strategy.

Devour will be destroyed within a minute or two thanks to competent survivors too.

Or do you want slugfest? that doesn't seems to be any better than camping/tunneling either.

Killers really do live up to their name and kill the games with their tunnelling and camping (boring/ toxic gameplay) even when they have the upper hand anyway lol

They’ve always been. Camping and tunneling have been de facto play styles since this game’s creation. To your question, they continue to exist because BHVR allows them.

Killer has been miserable since the patch. That's why.

When 3 survivors are left the game can snowball in the killers direction fairly easily. So camping/tunneling one survivor out is the easiest way to almost guarantee that 4k.

It's not fun but it's the smartest way to play killer and it's been adopted by the majority. It's BHVR's game and they made it like this.

Game isn’t balanced for chases, it’s balanced around kills.

Any player who has played Killer awhile understands this.

    "upper hand"

ah yes, because having almost no gen regression while dealing with toolboxes and gen rushing = upper hand.
