Is there anything I should know about them from a gameplay point or are they a neat cosmetic decoration?

    I'm using them like crows, they evaporate when people run under them. So they give me an idea when the survivors are running or have recently been.

    They are like crows, but insanely visible, it helps significantly with tracking.
