Do the floating people do anything for the killers?

Hey guys so in the new anniversary update around the map there’s the floating people as survivor when you go to it, it disappears but me and my partner in two separate games saw that when in chase a gold line comes from the floating people down to the killers, does it actually do anything for them? We don’t play killer so have no idea TIA.

    The gold line is their invitation getting activated as a chase has just begun.

    The balloons you are referring to seem like aesthetics at first but once you move closer they disappear and make a sound. This is useful for the Killers for tracking purposes.
