Future events: More abilities, less 'get to end game to get rewards'
I love that we have so many good uses for the event item and it makes for some fun, temporary, powerful abilities when used right, but man it SUCKS playing killer because survivors need to reach the end game to get rewards meaning gen builds are almost necessary and in the same vein, killers can't keep up without a ton of slowdown or tunneling, which makes Survivor games hell. Please stop tying rewards to gens getting done or hatch spawning because it makes for very unfun games.

You would have tons of dying on hook instead, is it that better?

Halloween was great! You did a gen for a short time, leave the gen to deposit, do the gen, deposit and you get your reward, regardless of game progression!

sure, I agree some action requirement would be enough, but if it was just find an invitation and die, you would have players dying on hook as soon they find it.
