let me change my dbd username independent of steam

sometimes I want my username to be "drunk by daylight" in DBD, but I don't want to have to remember to change my steam username back the next day.
I bet I've already requested this but forgot, because... well....

Is it that easy to change your name on Steam? Us plebs on Xbox can only change it once per month, and it is not free.
