Killer is easy

both roles are kinda hard once u get out of the low elo in my opinion but can also feel extremely noob-ish when using any of the following playstyles (gen rushing or tunneling/camping).
The strongest ways to play require the least amount of skill. Hyper focusing your objective in this game just require u to be very persistent not skillful.

As above so below, a killer will lose without making mistakes.
As below so above, a survivor will escape without ever being chased. The real question is what killers are you facing that win easy?
1 -
That same applies to the opposite; if you fall behind against good survs, tunneling and camping won't save you. Or simply if you get a bad map.
I will say that while a player's first few hundred hours as killer is pretty easy*, once you hit the MMR cap, things change. It doesn't get consistently difficult (MMR is too hit or miss), but the cakewalk is over at that point. In matches where the killer and all four survs are about the same in terms of experience, I think killer is harder.
There's definitely a curve in terms of balance.
*this is why many surv mains who try out killer or only play killer for dailies think killer is super easy; at low MMR where players are new and almost always solo, it is. Especially if you have a tone of time in surv and all the game sense that comes with that experience. Most of those people never make to the point where they're actually facing good surv players.

I know its a troll posting but...
I've playing both sides, i can say killer of course is much harder than survivor, mostly because of the 1v4 aspect of the game. (i'm not complaining). If the killer does not plays perfectly, he/she can clearly lose a match in a matter of seconds.
Most of killer mains can remember a match where they lost a match for commiting to a chase for too long, lagged and lost a catch/hit, even wiffed and lost a potential down that would change the entire course of the match. I remember a match where i wiffed at a Nea, which gave enough distance to get her to the shack, which increased the chase for a couple of seconds, which gave enough time to the other survivors to heal and do gens, denying me a use of pain ress. You see: a lost hit from a whiff costed me a whole match.
Playing as survivor, the win remains more in coordinating with the other survivors than playing perfectly in a chase. 4 medium skilled survivors can get an 1, 2 or even a 3 escapes against a good killer if they do gens and does not give free pressure to the killer (free hits, go down near a generator or a hooked survivor, try to tank hit unnecessarily).
Really, the only change i think it needs to me made is buffing SoloQ with more info, so people can coordinate more easily. And getting good at the game, as even with much information, a bad player taking bad decisions will always lose the game.

I mean survivors get the chance to make 6 mistakes each assuming you're not being face camped or tunneled. So in theory all survivors could make a combined total of 20 mistakes and all 4 would still be alive. That's significantly more than what a killer can make during a match.
Most mistakes generally come from bad teammates that don't really know how to play the game properly or are inexperienced.

How did you come up with the number 6?

The concept that people keep missing here is survivor requires teamwork.
Effective teamwork can be hard to come by when its among a bunch of strangers with varied skill, experience and motivation especially in an online environment.
Both sides are challenging in their own way.
Killer challenges stem from managing the game on your own and maintaining control of the game
Survivor challenges stem from cooperating effectively to take control of the game from the killer.

What I find funny about posts like this is it's never mentioned in the OP what killer is used, how long it was used, what perks/addons, etc like it's the equivalent experience to survivor.

You get 3 chances 6+health states
And still decide to complain on the forums
1 -
I dunno...
Maybe i'd like to see you go against a good squad without being Nurse...Nor Camping or Tunneling,
let's see how long that attitude will change,

The best part about anecdotes is that everyone has the same experience :)

All I know is, when I play killer I am laughing. When I play survivor, I'm crying.
Sad world.

As mentioned before, at low MMR killer is much easier than survivor, and most players will get a bunch of easy killers games for quite some time until their killer MMR reaches a certain point. Then killer abruptly becomes much more difficult and I would argue fairly close to solo survivor at times. Overall though solo survivor is the hardest 'role' but killer isn't far behind.
0 -
That literally doesn't matter in some games
2 -
I've never played Nurse once and as a survivor main I don't respect the camping/tunnel method so I don't do that either. What else you got?
0 -
Depends on the player, and can't be treated as an absolute as you're trying to claim.

That'll happen when you're in a very low MMR. The game is killer sided low MMR. It's somewhat balanced mid MMR. It's survivor sided at high MMR.
Also, survivors have a lot of perks that fixes mistakes. Got hit? Now you have a permanent speed boost until healed. Made a mistake and about to get hit? Can make yourself immune to the hit. Made a mistake and looped incorrectly? Can fly away once you go through a window. Made a mistake and the killer caught you off guard? Can take off at 200 mph. Out of position and in a spot where you'll be slowed once you fall? Now you can run off without the slow. Made a mistake and didn't vacate the area after you were unhooked? You have 80 seconds of immunity. Bad at avoiding mistakes and instead always missing skill checks? Can use your addon to ignore all skill checks. List goes on and on.

It’s easier with teamwork but survivors can technically prosper alone. While I have many different survivor builds, I’ve got an entire survivor build dedicated to making sure I get out alive. It’s solo player geared and works.

Then why do you say Killer is easy if you're a survivor main...
now this argument don't make sense..
2 -
I also play killer some and it's easy. Also, a lot less wins as a survivor so killer is easy. It makes a lot of sense...
1 -
Yeah if you hide and let your team die I'm sure it works fine
1 -
now tell that to the low tier killers that rely on survivor being bad at the game to win on many maps because map design still favors survivor for the most part.
I do agree that S - A tier killer needs some adjustments
cough cough NURSEbut not every killer can really make a lot of mistakes and still win like you said ; just look at billy , pig , myers , onryo , legion , trapper , Oni , Knight , twins.if the survivor wants to really win , they just:
pre-drop - play safer - hold w - smash M1 - avoid allowing the killer to do a 3 gen - stay spread out - one guy with reassurance.
100% escape rate build against half of the killers of the game.
1 -
Maybe if you have a good team but that's rare in solo que. They're either bad or DC/kill themselves on hook. When I play killer, I play Myers and Billy a lot and get 3 and 4ks regularly
1 -
you cant balance things around solo Q , that would be horrible.
thats more of a problem with the playerbase not wanting to learn how to play than with the game itself.
if all survivors play "decent" they should always reach the endgame with atleast 3 people alive ; and thats a fact.
they have the tools to do it but they prefer not to use them for some reason , (fun builds i guess?
more like throwing the game)1 -
The devs have officially communicated in streams that the game is balanced for SWF vs. Killer, not SoloQ. I disagree with this personally, but SWF is something that keeps the playerbase bigger, so is a necessary evil.
Across the board the killer should be averaging a kill rate of 2.6.
Considering in SoloQ one early death, which is very common in SoloQ becomes a 3 or 4k... what do you think that says about how good SWFs are vs. Killers?
Killer vs. A decent SWF is brutally hard... and if you've never gone up against it yourself on an m1 killer without meta perks, you'll take the OPs position.
0 -
For sure its very possible to build for a more solo survivor experience and is often a good idea if not playing SWF, I was speaking more generally when people use the blanket "X is easier" point.
I wouldn't say either side is easier overall just they are challenging in different ways and some people find one easier than the other.
Personally I find killer easier than survivor but I play a lot more killer.

That argument is so trash. 4 vs 1, 12 perks vs 4. 8 add ons vs 2. Flashlights, speed burst, faster tool box, pallets, looping perks, dead hard, TWO exits clear on the other side of the map from each other so if one is actually active with a killer don't worry you can just run to the other one. Oh wait IF the Killer somehow gets the edge and keeps you from opening the gates you get a hatch, if the killer closes the hatch don't panic you can have a key to open it too.... JFC Survivors mains that complain are delusional.
0 -
It's cause you're facing Weak survivor that don't know much on looping...
Play killer for atleast a whole month straight. no surv just pure killer.. you'll see how hard it'll get once you get the Swfs js,
