Trapper Mini Buff/Rework Suggestion

So, the biggest thing that trapper has going for him in maps is grass. As Otz points out, clever trap placement in grass makes them work. However, more and more maps fazes out grass, which is making Trapper weaker by comparison.

DE has made it clear that they do not wish to rework Trapper as their Data shows "he is fine", and that they are happy with having him be a simple killer for newer players to pick up.


So, keeping all of this in mind I wish to improve his beartraps somewhat to make them better overall, and not depend on grass as much.

I drew inspiration from Overwatch for this change, and that is, when the Trapper deploys a trap, have the actual bear trap's model sink into the floor by about 60 to 75%. The exact same way it works for Junkrat. Let only the outer teeth and the pedal of the beartrap be visible.

This way, the traps are more hidden but are functionally the same. A calm scouting eye can still spot them, but a rushed survivor is very less prone to see it.


This also removes the Trapper's dependency on grass, as with less of a model being displayed ,the traps can be hidden easier.
