Hangman’s Trick nerfed?
Hangman’s Trick finds itself in a tricky spot. Its range is fairly small given that hooks are very common. However, increasing the range any further would cause it to reveal auras across nearly the entire map.
Hangman’s Trick will become Scourge Hook: Hangman’s Trick. This Perk now reveals the auras of Survivors within 8/9/10 meters of a Scourge Hook whenever a Survivor is being carried.
So isnt this worst than 6 meters in each hook?, Yeah is 4 meters more but like in 80% less of the map.
Could have a little more distance or unbrokeable hooks or instarespawn or something.
Imagine something like, this 4 hooks cant be broken. So you can hook people here and dont lose one of your 4 special hooks that are randomly placed. In addition 16 meters aura detection (10 is nothing for only 4 hooks)

Yea it's not going to be a good perk. They could significantly increase the aura range and/or bring back the old effect it used to have where if a hook was sabotaged/broken it would respawn faster (I think it was after 10 seconds). Especially considering it'll be limited to only scourge hooks now I think it would be more than fair.

ye they nerfed hangman trick. 4 hooks means only 40 meters of the map is being detected. for comparison darkness reveal is 8 meters but it works on every locker. so its just worse darkness revealed for hooks.

To be fair it is a radius, so think of it more like a pizza measurement (even though they use diameter, but I digress). The current ~113 m^2 per hook is going to now be ~314 m^2 at 4 hooks. Now technically this is a buff in specific jungle gyms with a scourge hook as they typically are further than 6m from the hook to the gen in that gym, but you still have to notice the Surv's foot behind the gen in more cases than not, so that barely helps if at all.
I would think to make this viable they should either increase the duration to include while the Survivor is hooked, or alternatively apply to all hooks that Survs are further from the hooked Surv than the Killer while the Surv is on the Scourge (also other than on hooks with Survivors currently on them for both variants, to not promote camping/tunneling).

Yeah Scourge hooks are already RNG dependent making Hangman a scourge will kill the pick rate (despite it barely being picked at all)
That range needs to be larger.

In some ways, you have to hand it to them: this perk was almost entirely useless up to the point of being near-impossible to make worse, yet by jove they bloody well did it!

Can't wait to have the opportunity to not get any value out of it when TWO scourge hooks spawn in Eyrie of Crow's main building!!

When I read the Hangmans Trick change I immediately thought "why are they nerfing this perk?" They'd be better off having it stay showing the aura on all hooks and having sacrifice hooks come back after a certain amount of time to stop hook dead zones like old Hangmans Trick.

Might have some potential if you go with Agitation, Mad Grit and Pain Res. You can see if anyone is trying to body block or go to sabo your scourge hooks from a greater distance and get potential chances to save your scourge hook...
But yeah, likely to only be a meme build, never meta.

Thing is, you are going to see that bodyblock and sabo even without this perk.
Dont understand how bhvr balance this stuff is has merit tbh.
