Question About Brand New Part Update

From the Developer Update: When a Brand New Part is installed, you will face a difficult Skill Check. Upon succeeding the Skill Check, the generator’s required charges are reduced by 10 and the Add-on is consumed.

The way it reads, it sounds like it reduces the max charges a generator requires, rather than instantly adding 10 charges.

If I'm right, that means that it changes a generator from needing 90 charges to complete to 80 charges, and it's permanent.

Is this correct? If so, does the effect stack, meaning it's possible to make a single generator require 50 charges?

Do you mean if the generator were to get regressed to 0 when 4 BNPS have been used on it it would take only 50 charges to finish the gen?

Basically. The way I"m understanding it, normally a generator takes 90 charges to complete. Using a Brand New Part changes that to requiring 80 charges. So that get got regressed to zero, it would still take less time than it would if you were starting from scratch normally.

It does not say anything about stacking, but I'd assume so. Will see tomorrow during the PTB, people might test that for sure. I think that even in that scenario, the gen would get slower progress than with the current BNPs, so it's still good or at least better from the killer POV in my opinion.

It might be a way to fight 3 genning, but honestly it seems worse than what it is now.
