Will there ever be a PTB, or at least more features to test, for console gamers?
When I play DBD I play on console, and I think it's incredibly frustrating that there hasn't been any new features to try out on console. Being able to test out the new wiggle progression was the only thing thus far that was a feature available for console users to test, and I think it's really a letdown that on console there aren't more opportunities to get involved with testing. I get that it might not be possible to have an entirely separate test build for PS5, Xbox, etc. but if there could even be some small features to try from the PTB or more changes to pilot that would really make a difference.
While I watch every PTB video and update online I want to be able to experience the PTB for myself to help influence changes and make a difference for the game. I'm new to the forums so if there's been a discussion about this already let me know so I can contribute.

Well, as someone who works in the console gaming industry, its a little more tricky to get things like test builds out on console platforms.
Usually there is no native mechanism for a "test build" perce', you kinda have yo work within the platform limitations.
You may have to bundle it in with the main game package, or upload it as an entirely seperate package but discounted fully to players who own the base game. This can be a bit of a faff yo say the least.
Typical consoles have also have stricter TRCs (Technical Requirements Checklist) to follow than PC, so it's a little more effort to actually get a test build on the store.
It's not impossible, I seem to recall PUBG has a test build on PS4/5, and I assume it does on Xbox too, but the player base would have be large enough and provide substantial enough feedback for it to be worthwhile... so it's not impossible... but I wouldn't hold your breath either 😉

On Xbox both DayZ and Minecraft have "experimental" game downloads that are separate, and I'm sure there's others too. I haven't run either so I can't speak to ther effectiveness but they exist, and lots of people certainly play those games.
I seem to remember one of the biggest hurdles to getting a PTB was the console verification systems.
When DBD was only on Steam they could pump out a dozen hotfixes a day if they wanted to. But each and every game update for console has to be run & approved by Microsoft and by Sony and by Nintendo. Since the PTB version is another "copy" of the game entirely with the proposed changes (and no MMR) it would be treated as a separate game to be separately tested by those manufacturers.
This takes like 4-7 days apparently for all three to give approvals, and the PTB only runs about 2-3 days or so now. For example Trickster's chapter was delayed a week because one of them took longer to approve it.
