When will BHVR finally acknowledge their horrid chat filter?
I am all for censoring racial, sexist, homophobic, etc. slurs.
But I think DBD is the game with one of the single worst chat filters I have ever had the displeasure of using... or trying to use.
Escaped a fun match against pinhead in which we fought over the box. I take the box with me and type "my box now" in chat... it gets censored to "** *** now". That literally makes it seem so much worse.
But the worst of all, you literally can't even type out certain characters, perks and game mechanics. I just don't get it. It's not even consistent. Sometimes I can type certain names, other times it gets censored.
If it's supposed to be a "smart filter" that detects the connotation of words in sentences, it just needs to be removed with how horrid it is.
Can we please finally get some acknowledgement for this issue? if you keep the chat as is, you might as well just remove it entirely.

Is it vastly preferable to letting the actual toxic cesspit of the community have free reign? Yup.

You're fine with not being able to type out character names and perk names? Really?
If someone doesn't want to read end game chat cause of toxicity, they have the option to turn it off (I think? if not, that should be an option). But to make everyone else 'suffer' for it and make it not possible to have a nice chat either, just blows

Give us the ability to at least turn it off like most other online games I've played. Idc what they say to me, I can handle it I promise lol. Besides, there is the option to report so...who cares?

It is worse when some words get banned and one cant understand why and then you realize maybe it is because in another language it may sound that you are attempting to use a slur.
It happened to me typing "negocio"(business) and getting censored😂

Absolutely, the censorship truly makes no sense and the chat isn't useable beyond "gg wp" because of it.
Censoring slurs ? Absolutely, go ahead, but maybe consider auto-banning people who use those from using the chat again.
Censoring swearwords ? This is an 18+ game, there's no need to do so.
Censoring random words that are related to gameplay such as character names and "kill" ? This is just silly and frustrating, why make a post game chat if we can't actually discuss the game ?
I know the heavy censorship is to stop harassment but, dear BHVR, have you considered that people don't need to use swearwords, or will bypass them very easily if they want to harass someone? Have you considered actually doing something about harassment instead of just hiding it behind ******** ?
There's already an option to disable the chat, so it really shouldn't be too complicated to forcefully enable this option for people who have been reported for harassment. I genuinely don't know anyone who feels better about someone screaming in post game chat because half of it is unreadable. Just stop those people from using the chat and the let the rest of us be able to talk without censorship making it sound like we're insulting everyone's mom.

They should at least whitelist terms that are used in game, common terms, etc. It’s not like the list would have to be that long to make an improvement. Most of the time I’m saying something completely innocuous but the censoring makes it look like it was something insulting.
