Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Killer addons are meant to modify-not buff

as time continues, bhvr just keeps adding more op addons that doesnt change gameplay or gamestyles. As of now, 42% of killers have add-ons that inflict exposed with to no or little downside.

A example of addons that are perfect are killers like huntress or myers.

Huntress can sacrifice all her hatchets to make one exposed hatchet. Which is perfectly fine.

While myers add-ons allow him to play 3 different playstyles (mori, stalking, surprising)And each of these have different requirements to set

However,More add ons keep being added that purely just buffs the killer and doesnt offer any different gameplay, for example clown that allows him to inflict exposed when hit with a bottle.

I believe theres 2 reasons as to WHY this happens

-Base kit, killer is to weak. (Fault of BHVR,they can buff)

-BHVR doesnt have the patience to add unique features for select few killers, like how one hag add on inflicts a ear deafening status effect purely unique to her.(Fault of BHVR,just have patiece)

I just find it annoying how less and less unique gameplays are and how reliant players have to rely on PERKS to modify their power and gamestyle rather than THEIR OWN UNIQUE ADDONS?

Also, yes add ons can modify powers as in slightly buffing it or offering new gamestyles but purely making it overpowered isnt modifying.

My brother the original addons were all just number increases/decreases. The new playstyle addons are a modern dbd thing

Where is it stated that add ons can't buff? And is the same true for survivor item add ons?

Bro just called Iri Hatchet and Tombstone good examples of add-ons, lol. They're broken.

A good example of add-ons are number changes for the most part, and very little effect on playstyle.

I think a very big consensus in the game is that Wesker had the best examples for add-ons. Strong, but not overpowered. Not useless, not underpowered.

I do agree that exposed addons that easily allow for a down is the pinnacle of just a poor idea.

Why? Because all it takes is the SBMM System to have a nervous breakdown and then I get a master skill huntress with Iridescent Hatchet, its a horrible experience. Killers should not have addons which a Skilled player can take to such ridiculous heights.

Even when it comes to Pinky Finger for Clown, I heard from some Clown Mains dont even like using it cause it just feels cheap to use it, and I agree. I have had many SoloQ games that just break down out and over when the Clown can down a Survivor so fast.

It was also rather laughable how Pink Finger was nerfed so slightly, I wonder what it would take for bHVR to realize that easy exposed addons are terrible cause they don't seem have acted much on the feedback I have seen over the years.
