Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

We need the Devs to tell us why MMR is hidden.

I think most of the community would want MMR to visible. If the side effects of this involve a new game mode and rewards based on ranks for the sake of avoiding a rise in tryhards, why not? More rewards for playing good and more often is healthy for the game.

Also, this would help people monitor their own improvements, along with making discussing perk/killer/add-on balancing easier.

I don't know if anyone else noticed, but everyone in the forums are "High MMR".

Going against a cracked Nurse or a cracked SWF doesn't prove anything.

I was playing Trapper on Lery's with an iri and a purple, against a SWF with a combined 24k hours, 4, 5, 7 and 8 respectively. I had 1100h at the time, and I won. Does this make me the best Trapper player, and super high MMR? No. This game is still very reliant on luck, just as much as skill. Maybe you started patrolling on the wrong generator. Maybe the survivors spawned all separated, maybe they all spawned together and hammered down the last generator you were checking. The gates spawned too far, too close. Too many pallets, wrong gyms, shack window facing into or out of the map. You will constantly win or lose against the people that are better or worse than you.

Having difficult games because of that luck factor doesn't mean you're finally in high MMR and your opinion is valid.

So, yeah. It would be healthier for the game if everyone could see their own and each other's MMR.

And if not, why is MMR not being added?

Most people think they are top MMR wheras we are told that most are actually in the middle. I think I'm in the middle so I'm probably down at the bottom with default Dwight. Do we really want to know we aren't as good as we think we are?

That is simple, cause its a Game, not a Contest.

It's not meant to be visible, because it's not meant to be something you can brag about.

It's just there to try to create fairer matches. People keep saying that DBD is a party game and having mmr hidden helps keep it more of a party game.

    Why would it be visible?

I don't understand why so many people think the default expectation is that you should get to see your matchmaking specifics. Most games don't let players see the inner workings like that, and if you are ever shown your MMR number, it's almost always exclusively in the ranked mode and not the other modes-- a mode that DBD does not have.

Not in a million years are we going to see our rating. If you think there is sweat in this game now wait until rating is shown and experience the 4 slowdown Nurse that camps+tunnels while also slugging for the 4k every game. The game was already bad when it was at 1900 and the number wasn't even being shown back then. Showing the number in this game would be a sheetshow.

On top of this there will be rank shame where any low mmr players is terrible at the game and needs to learn how to play the game rather then complain about balance. Oh you are complaining about x? What is your mmr? LUL imagine complain about x when you are a 1k rated player. How about you take that energy of complaining and instead put that towards not being trash at the game.

    Not like it matters...

It's based on only kills/escapes. That's simply not relevant, mainly for survivors tho.

I certainly don't want it visible, it'll only cause more problems than it'll supposedly solve.

From what I've told, the MMR ceiling is actually incredibly low, so seeing it would only really affect new players vs everyone else.

I would think that MMR is hidden for the same reasons that people want prestige levels to be hidden. It may lead to lobby dodging and/or harassment.

    No.

Apparently you can’t be content with prestige = skill. Why not go for 100 prestige first on whomever?

Also you just shoot yourself in the foot with your Trapper gameplay analogy just saying it’s luck. So why show it when it‘s predominantly used to measure unreliant dick length?

Yes, that’s predominantly nature based and unreliant on actual skill from a causal standpoint, so why focus on how big your E-peen is?

I suppose tThat this vanity could be capitalized on, to better drain dry vain players over the casuals, but is that a good monetization method?

    Maybe? Actually.

The irony that a paid tier of exclusivity would likely be able to well fund a chapter is depressing.
