Add a way to select servers
It's kind of annoying when you get thrown in a random lobby in a US server when you are in Europe. Same when I get paired as killer with people from yet another continent. I'm in Italy and I get paired with people from Saudi Arabia or China (the heck?) - and it's not eveb during a low traffic moment of the day like at night when the European player base is at its lowest. On top of that, I barely ever see people around my area, i.e. other Italians.
Even free 2 play games have a server selection, come on.

Killers would select servers far away from them so they can land hits that shouldn't have hit. That's why VPNs are such a problem in DBD and are reportable.
Also, DBD does tend to shove you into any available server for some reason no matter where you live. The matchmaking is genuinely terrible.

If you want a workout for this atm, find a survivor in a country you want to play in and make them host then ready up. Enjoy.

Yes, they can theoretically get somewhat of an advantage, but in most cases bad ping makes your power very unresponsive. Try playing Blight with 200+ms ping, your power literally screws you over because there is a tangible delay between input and action.
That's just band aiding and doesn't necessarily throw you in their server. I was with 3 other Italians, we ended up in a Virginia server. :|

That's why they dont generally play Blight...? It's always other killers.

The thing going on with servers is annoying, but if there is the choice to pick servers, people would pick a wrong one on purpose while playing killer and we know how that could go. It'd become just another tool for people to abuse like every tool has become lately (even anon mode by people who just want to behave extra poorly with less chance of getting a punishment.) The servers need to be improved to get better quality on your own ones by proximity, but definitely never be able to pick one yourself.

Picking a server for an advantage is kind of a moot argument, for quite a few reasons:
- it's available in actual competitive games and it's considered completely normal;
- you can still force it by joining a friend from another continent, and again nothing really happens to your account in terms of bans / actual advantages;
- I get paired with people who are not in Europe with 120/200 ms ping and that's also totally fine according to how the game works;
- Streamers are encouraged to use a VPN for security reasons, so they can do it as well without repercussions.
I do agree however with having better dedicated servers to deal with actual regions, instead of broader regions that make zero sense. It's just wrong that the EU German server (or wherever it was) is pretty much flooded with people with bad pings because it's literally hooking in users from Asia or Africa. Europe is pretty much a festival of wi-fi hits due to how we get matched.

I don't think you've gone against enough cross-ocean VPN Killers to suggest this, but it is a common and miserable experience if you play Continental US West Coast at 1am-5am. Lagvantage is one of the most stupid and unfair things to deal with, as you can't outskill a clear miss at a window done a millenia ago. At least when Survivors use a VPN you can get free hits you don't deserve, and the penalty is self-inflicted, but VPN Killer ruins the match playability.

Every time I did this it worked 100% of the time so.. Still works I think xD
Just the lag.. you'll probs have about 200 ping lmao
