i need help as a free 2 play player

never been financially rich but ive been able to get a but of free time to play this game before going into studies and school starts soon.

as is, i buy ps membership and paid for this game so i need help.

What should i do as a free to play player?

Despite paying for the game, almost all the content is locked, and a quarter of everything locked is stockrd behind a pay wall so so many killers or survivors by default i cant unlock.

And for the ones i can, the free currency takes days of pure playtime not including matchmaking to unlock these characters, and to be frank i dont think i have the time to spend months on end purely plaything this game

Another thing is perks. I barely have any perks besdies the free ones and it takes just so long to gain individual perks and fun/meta perks as either i gotta pay 9k shards if its free or wait for it to pop in shrine of secrets, and ive done my research and some perks to this day havent popped in shrine of secrets to this day. And by the time i do unlock these meta or fun perks they just get reworked before i even get value off it..

cosmetics are another thing entirely to… 21k shards for a skin that looks indifferent to a common skin is crazy to me.

i feel so hopeless knoeing it takes months or even a year of pure playtime to unlock these things, and i simply dont have that amount of time.

When I moved to PC from PS5 the grind was genuinely unbearable. After losing all my progress, and my Nancy, the games were so boring. I had to make use of default perks and get my MMR up which was excruciatingly annoying with solo queue. Every Shrine of Secrets was terrible and I had to resort to buying characters for 9,000 shards in order to actually get perks that are useful. I understand how it feels completely. It's a shame you need to sacrifice so much time into the game, but what else can you do?

Also 21,000 shards for an oufit is crazy, you need to play so much games but the whole point is to make buying auric cells more impulsive.

@k3ijus take a look at the road map below during special events sometimes they put characters on sale for less shards. The next one is some point in August just hold off for a while and wait till then. I know it is hard but hopefully it will be worth it.

Being a "Free 2 Play" Surivor is easy, since the Standard-Perks for Surivors are already the best ones. Just Prestige the Standard-Characters and you can use these Characters unique Perks on every other Character. Adrenaline, Lithe, Sprint Burst, Resilience, Prove Thyself, Kindred, Unbrekable and more are by far the best Perks in the game and all easy obtaiable without spending any Shard or Auric Cell. And they are all balanced gameplaywise and won't get changed anytime soon.

For Killers, it depends a bit on the Killer you wanna play. But it's almost necessary to spend Shards or Auric Cells to get the overall best Perks- or get a decent Build for the most Killers. So being a "Free 2 Play" Killer is hard or requires the Luck of the RNG-Gods.

The Shrine is horrible and should be reworked, since there are so many Perks in the Game, some haven't been in the Shrine for almost a Year.

Don't spend 9k Shards on any Character. Wait until a Event where Characters are half-off. That's mostly the case at the Anniversary, Helloween or Christmas. A Character for 4500 Shards is actually kinda fair.
