Singularity survivor animation nitpicks

Hey!

First off want to say I really like the concept and design of Singularity overall, branching out to Sci Fi and other forms of horror (even though I'm more of an old school slasher fan) is something I feel is healthy for the game.

Singularity himself is pretty much fine... special shout out to Singularity's Mori being fantastically grisly... more of this please, there are some Mori's that... kinda suck, and I'd love to see them redone.

However there are some things about the Singularity animations that bug me... specifically to do with Survivors... When you look at other animations, survivors look horrified, in pain, and worried.... coughing/vomiting at Plague and T-Virus, wincing and pulling at Wesker's tendrils writhing through their body, or Pig's jigsaw boxes as survivors desperately writhe in the arms slots to complete the trial... the survivors look good in these interactions...

Not to be a jerk about it, I am aware of the work load for animations so don't want to be harsh... but some of these animations for Singularity are lacking, or are downright ass....

EMP Printing

This is my biggest complaint... and the reason I make this thread... this animation looks pretty damned stupid. What exactly is Gabriel doing? Pressing the print button repeatedly to speed it up? Like maybe if he looked stressed/panicked, kept looking over his shoulder, etc that would be something... but this just looks downright goofy.

It makes him and these EMP Printers look really quite poor, both from immersion and lore points of view... I don't expect a full Tony Stark hologram interface or something (though that would be cool), but maybe just having a little blue screen with the survivor helping confirm the design.

Have them use 2 hands to add the idea they're stressed, leaning in to focus and doing little action actions like 2 fingers rotating, zooming in and out and tapping the screen. Even if you literally just have them do this on a 4 second loop on a blue square, it would look infinitely better than this!

Temporal Slipstream Infection

This is OK... but nowhere near as good as it could be. In it's current form temporal slipstream just kind of pops/snaps onto your back. There isn't really any kind of animation to make it look nasty, painful or horrifying... it's just kind of there... like a hitchhiker.

It's serviceable but in my opinion a missed opportunity. Each time a survivor is infected, they should get the mark on their back, and the mini biopod should then grow out of it, as if it's generating itself out of their own flesh like a tumour.

After this while it's hovering behind you, if you have it pulse and twitch, as if it's a living infection. This would make it a lot more creepy and horrifying.

EMP Activation

Again this is servicable, and by far my complaint here is the most nit picky of nitpicks, but this doesn't really sell the idea of a device exploding to create an EMP, and the survivors kind of look bored using it... hardly conveying the idea of desperately trying to prevent the infections or being found by HUX.

For starters the Survivor could do something more interesting, again like the printers, have a touch screen they tap on to arm it... this would again sell survivors looking focused and alert instead of just walking with it looking bored.

Then after arming it, instead of holding it out in front of them causally like a tv remote, have them hold it up in the slightly above them at arms reach away from them and their to sell the idea they are trying to maximise its reach and not have it blow up in their face.

These things I feel would just help the immersion and by proxy make the Singularity just seem like a more dangerous threat... It's hard to take him seriously when the survivors don't seem to give a ######### with any of their interactions related to him. 😒

Cheers if you read everything!
